4 Canopy 5
Yes, please! I've now an empty spot on my homescreen for a shortcut I used 3 times a day. 4 1 Link to comment
4 trinta 4
I'm unsure why this was removed, but I hope it returns. In the meantime, I guess I'll migrate pinned notes to OneNote. 4 Link to comment
4 DAVOR77 4
Now I see that for real. I can't believe this option was removed in the new version. That was my favorite. I hope they saw the mistake and will return the option 4 Link to comment

2 GhoulCubes 6
+1 from me. Used this all the time - Foolish to remove this option Please, please, please bring it back 3 Link to comment
2 Siruw 1
I use this option very often to go into the notepad I want, otherwise I need to tap 4 times on the screen instead of one I really hope that they will return it 1 Link to comment
2 Keda 0
Yes please return this option. One of the features I used frequently Link to comment
2 KieranM55 0
I have a 'Daily to-do list' note that I shortcut to from my Android home screen 3-10 times a day, now I need to press about 3 times to find it and wait 10 seconds for loading... Just to jot down a very quick reminder Link to comment
2 doktorzirb 54
I strongly agree. We need critical notes /notebooks to be reached at one-click, not by serching. A quick compromised solution until restoring the feature would be to include in the new widget a direct link to shorcuts Link to comment
2 Fredsson 0
Yes, please bring it back! I will need to find another app for this if not... Link to comment
2 andrew_evernote 5
Agreed. This was a big reason I was willing to pay for Evernote instead of using other options. Please bring this feature back! Link to comment

0 Fuecisla 1
Absolutely, it was very useful! How could they miss it? don't they use Evernote on their phones? 😆 Link to comment
0 Dan Hotchkiss 8
A very inadequate workaround for those whose Evernote shortcuts have suddenly stopped working : Copy the note's internal link Paste into your web browser Use the browser to create a home screen shortcut If the Evernote app is set to open Evernote links by default, it's maybe 1/4 as convenient as home screen shortcuts used to be. As I say, inadequate! Dan Hotchkiss Link to comment
0 Bluebird13 0
The workaround using the internal link is inconsistent on my android phone. It sometimes opens the android app, but it sometimes opens the note in the browser. I'm not sure why the Evernote developers are removing features that increase productivity. I won't be renewing my paid subscription until this feature gets restored. Link to comment
0 StevieGee 1
I agree. It was a great convenience. Link to comment
0 mjc187 0
+1 Please bring this feature back. I use it regularly to access my daily task list from my phone's home screen. What used to take one click now takes 3 or 4. Very annoying! Link to comment
0 arlcrane 7
OMG I can't believe they took this away. PLEASE RETURN THIS FEATURE ASAP. Navigating to my desired note(s) has always involved too many touches and too much time. This feature was the best, easiest workaround......by having a folder(s) on the home screen with specific note shortcuts inside, made opening specific notes quick and easy. WHY Evernote WHY ????? It's as though you try to punish your users. Link to comment
0 KayOne 0
Please..who made this decision..this is the top 3 features of the app and it's gone..will switch if i can't use the widgets. I used it daily. Please bring it back. Link to comment
0 Red Hal 0
This is ridiculous. The ability to have notes directly accessible from my home screen was a big part of my decision to subscribe. I will not be renewing my subscription unless this feature has been returned before my renewal date. Link to comment
0 doktorzirb 54
Thank you all for following and commenting this post, and thanks EN for hearing. Evernote annouced yesterday that the new release 10.6 for iOS and Android version is already being rolled out, with the Simple note widget and "Add to home screen" widgets back (besides incorporating mobile Table editing). 2 Link to comment
0 Dean Spencer 0
I agree with everyone else and would love to have this option back. Really miss it. Link to comment
0 matej1990 199
It's implemented in v10.6: Update the app to v10.6. Go to the note, tap 3 dots in the upper right corner and select "Add note to device home screen". Link to comment
0 Barry Graham 67
This is very nice but I am still stuck on 10.5.1 with no update available for me in Google Play. When will this update be generally available? Link to comment
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 8,754 Posted March 14, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted March 14, 2021 Current release version is 10.6 for the mobile clients. Android is known for a relatively slow rollout of new versions, and it seems to depend a lot on the device and the update status in general. On iOS you get it, at once, or you can’t update, because not running at least iOS 13.3. Link to comment
0 Barry Graham 67
Yes, that is correct, this post is only relevant for the mobile clients. Is there there a phased rollout of the update? I have no trouble updating all my other installed apps on my Android phone, but even after deleting cache and storage for Google Play, I still don't get offered the chance to upgrade to 10.6. I know I could probably uninstall and reinstall Evernote but I am trying not to do that because I want to see if the old shortcuts will start working again after I do the upgrade. If I uninstall, they will probably disappear. Link to comment
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 8,754 Posted March 14, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted March 14, 2021 I am only using iOS devices. There the situation is simple, as described above. We have several devices in the family, and all get the update at roughly the same time. Be it an old iPhone 6S+ or an iPhone 11 Pro Max, they update side by side - just the Performance on the old phone is notably slower. With Android from what was reported in the forum I could not see a general strategy. A common limit is being on Android 10 or above. But even when this was the case, some could update, other could not. There were top brand phones like Samsung’s with issues, and no names that seems to get updates without any problem. Probably it has to do with the underlying framework, into which EN is embedded, whether it can easily run on a given device or not. To me this looks more like a gamble. Draw your card and wait until it is called. Link to comment
