Hi, I used Evernote for all kinds of note taking, including writing short stories and poems. One feature that would be super helpful is a writer mode with the following features:

    • distraction free full screen mode
    • adjustable maximum text width to prevent lines from getting too long
    • auto scrolling as you type
    • margin notes
    • commenting

Either as a part of Evernote, or a companion app could be super helpful too.

    Thank you!

Have you seen WriteRoom? It does pretty much the first three items, though I'm not sure about the last two.

I've used the app since 2013 and have never had issues but recently it has been locking up when I highlight text, especially on the MacBook but also on iPhone 7.  I uninstalled Evernote on the Mac and reinstalled it (v6.11.1).  I've rebooted my computer and iPhone.  The issue is still there.  The iPhone has the latest update v8.2.2.  I use the app frequently for shopping lists and various notes, but need to resolve the lock up issue as it is too frustrating and requires a force quit on the laptop at times.  Suggestions?

Have you gone to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us, and scrolled to the bottom of the page, and clicked "Start a chat or submit a ticket?" — the forums here are mainly community members.

    There’s no direct conversion service

You need to look at the export options in OneNote.  Evernote’s native format is based on html, but any file format can be imported as a note attachment

Right now, the only export option from OneNote is as PDFs.

Rather surprised and disappointed that the nav icon bugs introduced in 6.11.1 is still unresolved in 6.12.

Hope the Evernote Team will fix this asap in the next release, it's really causing inconvenience and annoyance.

    Thanks.

If this is happening ONLY in Evernote, then your copy may be corrupted. My recommendation is to follow Evernote's instructions for deleting and reinstalling Evernote from scratch.

I hope that helps! Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

Hi, I've got a lot of notes in the same "folder" and sometimes I can't find quickly the important note watching the list.

It's true that I am not accustomed to put tag and other text plus the text in the note, so I don't use tags.

What if the note could be tagged with colors too? It can be one color, so all the line of the note in the list (or title) could be colored in that color, or can be more than one color, so in this case a column can display the different colours.

I like this idea — Especially Google Keep's method of coloring the note snippets. If they could be tied into tags somehow, they'd be onto something. Tag something as "important" and suddenly your note is red!

Is there a way to scan my business cards, add to my contacts, then export that information in a csv or excel doc? I have about 500 business cards to be added to evernote but also need them for Constant Contact. Constant Contact requires a csv or excel document. So frustrated with searching this site for help. So any help would be appreciated!

If you have a ScanSnap scanner (including the Evernote Scanner), the included software will let you do just that :) .

I hope that helps! Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

My process is to completely delete Evernote from my Mac; app, database ...   The app AppCleaner is recommended for this

I reinstall the app and the database is rebuilt from the servers.  Warning: the rebuild doesn't include Local Notebooks or  unsynced notes

You left out the "make sure you have a copy of the older version, as it isn't guaranteed to be on Evernote's site" B)
