    Hi Folks -

We’re making our new Evernote Web experience available for users to try today.

What makes it so shiny and new you ask?

    • We’ve spiffed things up to create more consistent design and interactions across web and other platforms.
    • With the ‘Shared with me’ view, you can now easily see all of the notes and notebooks that have, well, been shared with you.
    • We’ve done some work under the hood to improve search results, so things will now be ordered by relevance instead of date updated.

Coming soon to a web experience near you: You may be missing reminders and a tags view, but don’t worry; we’re adding functionality to this new world as we go, so some of your favorite features are still to come.

    Want in?

    • All you have to do is go to ‘Settings’ and click the ‘Use the new web beta’ link.
    • Give it a spin and then send us any feedback you have by using with ‘Feedback’ button.
    • If the changes aren’t your cup of tea, no worries. You can turn back the clock by navigating to ‘Account’ and clicking on ‘Switch to previous version of Evernote’.

    New Web Experience

I miss the button that creates a new note based on a meeting on my calendar. If you could please add that back — or better still, add it to the Mac version as well ?

// Posting here since fits the subject.

Could anyone please point where to find Evernote v3 of MAC? (latest was v3.5.6 i think)

Am trying to downgrade to get back the speed Evernote used to have in v3 and v4 (after migrating to v5 / v6 its just horrible).

    I could find latest v4 ( v4.5.6 ) for MAC here:  https://evernote.en.uptodown.com/mac/old

But cannot find Evernote v3 for MAC anywhere...

// For Windows can get all version down to v3 here: https://filehippo.com/download_evernote/history/12/

    Thank you in advance!

BTW, speaking as a former beta tester of Evernote 5 — there was no version 4 for Mac. For some reason, they jumped from 3.3 directly to 4.
The "v4" link in your post actually downloads version 1.11(!) of Evernote.

A little suggestion: when you've fixed a bug that led to lost data, please refrain from making jokes about it in the release notes. People affected by that bug having lost data might not appreciate the humor.

Something else I've found: when I go to preferences, select "Software Update" and click on "Go to Mac Forum..." at the bottom, I get an error page.

Yeah, I've been complaining about the broken link in Evernote for a while now. Since they switched the forum software.

  4. - Check your Dock. Right-click on the Evernote icon in the Dock, and check under options for "Open at Login". This is separate from the Login items list.

    - Evernote might be trying to resume an open document. Clear out everything from ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.evernote.Evernote.savedState and see if that does the trick.

  5. A bug is back where clicking on a note in shortcuts causes the note to highlight briefly before the highlight shifting down to 'All Notes'. When I select a note in shortcuts, the highlight should remain on that note.

  6. While I personally think the concept of auto-updates is cool, there are a lot of grumpy folks burned by some Evernote updates in the Mac discussion group that may not be big fans of this.

  7. So, if you want to enter a code block in the latest version of Evernote, 7.1 — normally it requires 3 backticks (the ` key). If you start a new note, and try to insert a code block, the cursor instead jumps back to the very edge of the note without inserting the block:

…but if you enter some text first, then type the 3 backticks it will insert the code block properly:

Hi... same issue for me. After upgrading to version 7.x.x on my home iMac and iOS devices, all of the images that I had pasted into notes now show up as icons to view or download the image (or empty in the case of iOS). See attached. On my work iMac, which is still on the previous version 6.x.x (thanks Apple Store), the images still show up inline as they should.

BTW -- The images show up as they should on the Evernote Web version and previous version 6.x.x of work iMac. This issue seems to be related to the latest updates for Mac desktop and iOS versions only.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You ought to be able to right-click on those icons and choose "View Inline" to view it… well, inline.

The "Clipper" preferences will allow you to choose that option for all items, if you'd like.

I hope that helps! Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

    Hi here,

Need to let you know that after latest update I've got some issues with the search.
Search works only for some notes. For most of the notes search feature can't find any match. Neither for title, neither for content.
I've noticed that during upgrade there was some kind of migration happening. May be issue is caused by migration or indexing.

Fact: search works for new notes, created after update.

I will appreciate any hints to resolve this issue.

Have you tried kicking off a reindex?

In Evernote, hold down the Option key on keyboard, select “Help”, then “Troubleshooting”, then “Recreate Spotlight Search Index”:Help.thumb.png.25ddcf82de200e05f2c3a1013f71064c.png

  10. I added a few shared Evernote notebooks to my Mac, and now that I'm done with them, right-clicking on said notebooks, and choosing the option to remove it from my list of notebooks will work temporarily, but then they'll reappear the next time I launch Evernote.

The only way I could get rid of them completely was to do it from the web version of Evernote.
