  1. Hello, @TechPerplexed: I appreciate your notes and updates. Gmail and EN are my 2 softwares I use every day... all through the day. Having been a Software Eval Consultant... I conclude that EN has done too little over too much time to listen and implement User base improvement recommendations (incl. bug reports)... therefore I am going to take a serious look at Joplin based on your substantive comments. THX. ~ Alan
  2. Howdy, @gazumped. Much appreciate you getting back. I have reviewed the Linux-Wine threads prior to posting... however they're quite dated... which is why I used "recently" in my question. Thank you, ~ Alan Any current Linux users with EN experience?
  3. Hello EN Power Users: Has anyone gotten Evernote to recently run on Linux? I am ready to convert a new SimplyNUC Win 10 box to Linux Mint: - Intel NUC6i5SYH (Swift Canyon) - 6th Generation (Skylake) Intel Core i5-6260U Processor (4MB Cache, up to 2.90GHz) - Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 16GB RAM DDR4 2133 HX421S13IBK2/16 - Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB - M.2 SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-N5E500BW) - Windows 10 Home 64 Thank you in advance for any comments or recommendations. ~ Alan
  4. Liam... thank you... this is GREAT NEWS! (Will test and implement when I return to Texas after living in Switzerland since May 2017.) Thank you again for the update. ~ Alan
  5. Don Dz: I am not able to find either EN JPG setting or Android JPG setting. Also see earlier thread: Android/New Note/Camera saves as png even with Document selected Thank you. ~ Alan UPDATE: BTW... I just found this question on Quora (unanswered) Is it possible to change a photos format, from a PNG to a JPG, on an Android Samsung Galaxy S8?
  6. Hello, Members: The original purpose of posting this thread was to determine if an Android cell phone photo setting could be changed from PNG to JPG (which is about 20% or less the file size of PNG). Example: The full-size PNG has a file size of 402KB, but the full-sized, compressed JPEG is only 35.7KB. THX. ~ Alan
  7. Thank you. Is it possible to configure android EN for taking photos as JPGs?
  8. Thank you, ALL. EN previously provided the functionality and option to choose between JPG and PNG. This demonstrates the primitive formatting capabilities of EN still in 2019... which Power Users have brought to EN's attention for years now. Much appreciate the effort and feedback. ~ Alan
  9. Yes, I am aware I can take the time to convert images in a 3rd party image conversion software, either HDR or online. I would prefer to simply "Save As" a JPG (much smaller file size than PNG)... and definitely not have to convert myriads of images. Thank you. ~ Alan
  10. Hello, Power Users: Does an option currently exist to create JPG images vs massive PNGs? THX. ~ Alan
  11. Hello, @CristiPro. Thank you for the FIX. Have a Samsung S8... did not realize I had enabled DARK MODE... G-searched and found HowToGeek article "How to Enable a Night Mode in Android to Reduce Eyestrain" to accelerate my learning curve... disabled NITE MODE... opened EN... and voilà!!!... white background was back in business!!! A superdeeduper thank you! I hope this proves helpful to others in pain! LOL! ~ Alan
  12. 10-4. Understood. Interesting article just the same. ,) Alan
  13. Howdy, @CalS: I have not yet replaced Chrome... EN external links still not functional... I just found this article about Brave that may be of interest: Brave Browser Sacrifices Security https://securityboulevard.com/2019/02/brave-browser-sacrifices-security/ I'm sorry to see this unfavorable news when user hopes have been so high. Alan
  14. Hello, @skala... I was waiting for you to respond to @gazumped 's post: "That particular post and all its comments seem to be 7 years old..."
  15. Back to the PRIMARY question of this thread: Has anyone figured out how to PORTABLIZE Evernote and keep it current portablized following periodic updates? THX. ~ Alan
  16. @ CalS : 10-4. Understood. Based on the following (3) article paragraphs (below)... I am going to support Firefox Quantum's priority for SUBSCRIBERS first. Thank you for thinking out loud with me. Appreciate. ~ Alan Chrome’s Dominant Market Share Gives Google Power Google has been pushing the boundaries on their browsers, by allowing more overt surveillance to show itself to end-users. We saw it in late 2018 when Google forced users to sign in to Chrome when they signed to any Google services like Gmail. The market dominance of Chrome (and Chromium) is what allows Google to make bad changes with impunity. Other browsers like Mozilla Firefox have recently made significant leaps forward in speed and efficiency. Firefox is open-source and developed to be fast and responsible. It respects your privacy and doesn’t limit what you can do. If you like uBlock Origin and uMatrix, those extensions will continue to exist on the free and open web. If this is the last straw for you as a Chromium browser user, feel free to check out our Firefox Hardening Guide to see how to make Firefox more private and safer than Chrome. 17. Howdy, @CalS and Members: I just found (2) articles which spell unfortunate news for Chromium users who utilize ad blocking as I do: Chromium to Weaken Ad-Blockers – Impacts Chrome, Edge and Brave Browsers Google rejects Brave (BAT) ad campaign as “Malicious or unwanted software”. : CryptoCurrency I hope this proves helpful. ~ Alan
  18. Hello, Dave-in-Decatur: YEP. Appears to be same issue... however NOT yet resolved. THX. ~ Alan
  19. @CalS... I just followed these instructions... External LINK Issue still not resolved. THX. ~ Alan
  20. Howdy, @CalS: After reading many reviews on Brave browser... I'm inclined NOT to install it because of the LIMITATION it places on extensions... many of which I need. External LINK Issue still not resolved. THX. ~ Alan
  21. Thank you to: @AverySays : "Default browser: Google Chrome is your default browser I have switched MS Edge with Chrome and vice-versa... RESULT: WIN EN external links still do not open in reregistered Chrome. Appreciate the tip... Got any more? LOL! THX. ~ Alan
  22. Howdy, @CalS: Appreciate much... am good to go with install today... especially after finding there's a PORTABLE version available: (G-SEARCH | brave browser portable) FYI: Will report if Brave resolves external link issue I'm having. THX! Alan
  23. Hello, @CalS. Appreciate. I will look into the PROS and CONS of the Brave browser and get back with an update. THX. ~ Alan UPDATE-1 | Brave Browser Review 2019 – What Makes Brave Browser Special? UPDATE-2 | video - Brave Browser Review! (Brave vs Chrome!)
  24. Hello, @keisoko, Thank you for the suggestion. Your hunch is CORRECT... much appreciate! 1. I did a G-SEARCH | reregister Chrome as default browser | 2. I followed instructions of this video to reregister Chrome. 3. I changed default browser to Edge: - EN external links open without issue in MS Edge... 4. I change again default browser to Chrome: EN external links did not open in reregistered Chrome. ALSO: I am now going to research this ARTICLE: “Google Chrome is unresponsive, relaunch now” [Fix] So this does appear to be a Chrome issue... however I much prefer using Chrome over Edge. Any SUGGESTIONS on how to FIX this Chrome issue?...( because Chrome did work previously). Thank you much in advance! ~ Alan
