Geez. I'm panicking now to find my auto-update feature ( to turn it off) on my Samsung Note 10+. I rely heavily on my mobile Evernote every day to work. If they feck it up and I can't continue working with it, I'm going to absolutely lose it. I.e. figuratively (my mind) and physically (the apps and 10 years of paid Evernote loyalty).

I'll pay more attention to those from now on where possible. I kind of tapped out of the v10 updates after this major update fail I experienced. I literally have the very latest update .exe in my Downloads as I write this and I'm eyeing it suspiciously, wondering if it's worth trying again or should I wait a few more iterations. [insert game show thinking music here]

Did they actually say the red bit somewhere? I'm very curious to know if this is actually part of their stated intentions. I'm hip to the first part (stripping it back to fundamentals which will play well on all OSes--resetting to zero, if you will), but I'm still trying to ascertain their intentions vis-a-vis lost features and the future thereof.

Finally had to completely uninstall v10 and use Revo Uninstaller to pull it completely out by the roots, as you suggested @PinkElephant. But I think the registry deletions it suggested were possibly too aggressive because rebooting got bumpy and I had to run some repairs. Now v6 (Legacy) starts fine, but v10 won't start after a fresh install. It just says "having trouble starting..." or something like that and then my whole PC freezes. What a complete [bleep]show this v10 experience is turning out to be. So incredibly disappointed so far.

I'll bet you're feeling pretty good about that right about now, watching all the problems folks are having with v10. lol I'm running v10 just to keep an eye on new releases while I do my actual work in the legacy v6. Otherwise I'd be back to pen and paper or something. 🥴

Native Win 10 feature. I don't have an other installers/uninstallers.

Shouldn't. I was running it fine before the upgrade.

Uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue.

PS: rebooted. No change. So indeed, it's officially 100% hosed here.

Opened EN and was asked to install the latest update to 10.2.4., which I did. When EN opened, I clicked on a saved search because I was dying to get to a note and see if it still takes 2-20 seconds or more for the note content to appear. It's never appearing now, LOL! Seriously, I cannot break the loop I'm in. It doesn't matter whether I Relaunch or Keep Waiting. It just gets stuck here every time. Eventually I get asked if I want to Keep Waiting or Relaunch. Otherwise it's the green wheel of death. Even if I 'x' out of the program, it keeps trying to restart itself and then leaves me in this loop. Legacy 6.25.2 handles the saved search swimmingly well as per usual. No issues. Oddly, I can, in v 10, click on the menu (File, Edit, etc.) and the menu dropdowns seem to work somewhat (although I can't create a New Note). but the main part of the UI (Notes, Shortcuts area, etc.) is dead to my touch. Also, I can NOT kill this app in Task Manager. It keeps respawning itself and going back to this loop. Just effing DIE already! I guess I'll stop a day's work and restart the whole PC. Argh. Sidebar: at this point nothing about v10 feels like an "upgrade" and, frankly, it has me starting to swear like Ozzy Man on a regular basis. Did someone fire EN's testing department or something? It just seems to be getting worse the further along we go.

Obsidian is very cool looking. I like the graph feature. I have always wanted graphing for Evernote ever since I tried Personal Brain. I think the biggest thing I'd have to get over not having is multi-device access to my notes and the Web Clipper.

Cool app! Thanks for mentioning. I'm going to check it out in more detail this weekend. Love the idea of going from my EN to my blog (assuming it will work with whatever v10 is going to end up being. On a nearly related note, I learned of a very cool site today called WordToHtml. Type and format something in Word. Then paste it into their free converter and, voila, HTML. Perfect for doing simple one-off "pages" like when selling something on Ebay. Just thought I'd mention in case it's useful. Payback for the postach.io tip. 👍

Yes, you can. I'm running v10 (to keep an eye on developments) AND the newest legacy version, apparently retooled a little to allow for simultaneous operation with v10. It's 6.25.2. This thread lead me to doing this

I'm waiting for a note to sync in v10 which has already shown up in v6.25.2. How do I force the sync? I miss having the button in the top left... 😒

Hey great! That worked. Thanks again! I did search for something like that but didn't try right-click. I'll make a mental note to include that in my future functionality searches more. Kind of silly I didn't try that.

Oh brother. That was what was happening. It's odd, though. Why only some of the text? Hidden HTML formatting buried in the note, perhaps? Of course, the clear-formatting (ctrl+spacebar) feature doesn't exist in v10 like it does in v6.xx so I guess I just can't use Dark Mode, assuming I even keep EN at all after all this (the incredibly sluggish performance of V10 is killing me--the one thing I expected to be improved with the total code rewrite of v10). Meanwhile, at least this bug has a bit more definition to it. Thanks for pointing that out!

Running 6.25.2 and v10 at same time (which I'm lead to understand is possible) shouldn't impact my use of Chrome web clipper, right? Because the clipper should be sending its clippings to web EN which, in turn, would make it available to both Windows clients (v6.25.2 and v10). So I can still use one web clipper to rule them all, to loosely quote Tolkien.

VERY good to know! Thanks for pointing that out. Been meaning to ask that. Did you have to set up any special shortcuts to make it possible to run them separately?

Maybe they need to fix the note sharing features first so they can learn from each other's mistakes! 🤣

Are there any noticeable performance enhancements in the latest version? Anyone on v10 who can keep us v6 holdouts informed on this point? I'm kind of assessing when it's ok to dip my toe back into the pool and the main thing keeping me out was the greater than "two mississippi..." count between when I clicked a note and actually saw my data appear.
