  1. That's a good question. In the recent past when I forget to hit the green check on a mobile iOS device, it didn't go well. This may be from me closing the keyboard case on my ipad and inadvertently making changes (bumping keys as it closes) on the note before the tablet sleeps. Seeing your question, I just tested it and updated a note on my phone without hitting 'green check'. After 20 seconds or so, my desktop had synced the changes.
  2. I've no complaint in the last 3 or 4 months. Maybe longer, I just don't pay attention anymore to it. Adding a note to my desktop app (current version EN, mac OS) takes under 20 seconds for it to show in my home view on my phone (same wifi network, iOS). A manual sync option might be nice, but even when I'm trying to leave work quickly and I quit EN desktop right after I add data or a new note then EN pauses to sync (flashing a message to tell me) and then continues to quit.
  3. @cesar.santosIt sounds like a quick overview of EN's organizational method would help. Here's a pretty good start....good luck! https://toniakendrick.com/evernote-organization-tips/
  4. I don't enjoy them, but I don't see the need to spend a bunch of time exploring options to avoid. Once a month, click 'OK' to make go away. Or swipe. Or X out. It took longer to type this. 🤷‍♂️
  5. agreed, @PinkElephant some kind of message of intent from the bendy spoon folks would be great. Silence encourages us all to make up whatever our reptile brains fancy. I'll continue to be optimistic of EN's future, however I can't imagine the new owners will say anything that might result in bleeding subscribers. So, I will take whatever might be stated with large grains of salt.
  6. @kenbuchaI agree with you, am hoping some of this gets into a future update. There's another thread on calendar view of tasks that touch on this (below). Since I use a master list of tasks (versus each task living in its respective note), I'll add a link to a relevent note in the task name if needed. The task title gets a little long, it may not work for everyone.
  7. Links to one drive locations and the drag/drop function from local Mac explorer window into a note both work fine.
  8. Hey all, Still having periodic events where duplicate notes are created. The most recent time today time was good example... Working off site with ipad pro and started taking notes in EN on an existing note. Started notes, got a couple of lines written in ipad EN. Put ipad down for 30 minutes and walked around, came back to ipad and drove to office. At office, opened EN desktop and finished writing note. 10 or so minutes later, I ended up with duplicates. One note was the full and updated note, the other note was the version with just a couple of written lines from off site. This has happened several times, including with the previous ipad and desktop versions. Anyone find a best practice or something to help prevent? Running mac desktop and ipad os (both most current version). thanks
  9. My jury will remain out until the end of my billing cycle in 4 months. Their site is annoying, spent a ton of time scrolling just to see what the he** their apps did. I know graphics and video folks and their phones are not their primary editing devices. Would be curious how financially healthy bending spoons actually is when you remove the government cash influx they likely received to create Italy's covid tracking tool. At least they don't already have a product that competes against Evernote, so they probably won't play the game of buying/gutting and using purchased intellectual property to improve their own offering.
  10. The definition of 'improvement' will vary from user to user, and their needs. I've come back to EN from OneNote (couple of years ago) because EN's note-centric nature and some other features were better. In that time also, EN has been consistently improving. It's the reason I'm sticking with them (for now) even though I really need improved navigation within notes and tasks (e.g. internal links) and outlook integration. The time committment of learning a new tool and workflow encourages me to have patience with EN's development timeline. That being said, I have no idea what will happen now that they've sold. New ownership by a business that doesn't appear to have any experience in an EN type of tool could be great if they let EN chart its own path, but that seems to be a rarity in mergers and acquisitions. time will tell.
  11. @bmcl26Thanks for the suggestion. I did try to find the correct sync settings within google and outlook to sync both ways for free and gave up spending time on it...our office financial controller already gives me the sideways look on my software purchases. For now, going to be patient and hope that the outlook user base is big enough for Evernote to integrate with.
  12. (me, standing in the corner waiting for outlook calendar integration.....)😔
  13. As @PinkElephant said, lack of info prevents help. But, is it a data thing? If you're not on wifi and your settings prohibit cellular data use for EN on your phone, that could be the issue. Or, I know that I had problems with app functionality on my iPhone when I upgraded the iOS but didn't update my other apps right away. Old apps running in new OS causes glitches.
  14. It happened to me this morning. Having EN open (Mac), only one window. Not running on any other device. Editing a note and suddenly have a duplicate. Confirm the "old" version of the duplicate and trash it, and continue to get messages about duplicates. Odd. Plan to open a ticket if it continues.
  15. Am running a new MacBook Pro, and I install updates successfully each time from the 'in app' prompt. Never had to use .dmg or the App Store. Is your OS current? Apple seems to tie version updates to the iOS version on phone and iPad, perhaps something similar on the MacBook?
  16. When the EN folks were asking for user input on future developments for the Task feature, one of the requests was for a calendar view of Tasks. EN seemed receptive, but no idea if it will be done. If I'm optimistic, maybe we'll see some additional Tasks functionality when the Outlook calendar connection is released.??
  17. Considering an upgrade to professional to take advantage of the Microsoft Teams integration. Anyone have any experience with that? I do periodic work with an internal team of employees that use Msoft Teams. Curious what the integration actually looks like from the MSoft Teams user perspective...does that person need an EN account to view through the MS Teams interface, is their view of my note, or per my notebook, etc. Any thoughts welcome.
  18. A long shot----I "lost" some text in a note when my dark screen mode changed or I changed the dark mode preference in an app. My auto colored text disappeared into the background color. Still there, just camouflaged. Highlighted the area and changed text/font color. Panic for awhile, though, until I realized what I'd done...
  19. Not positive that I understand your question, but here goes. Clipper creates a new note. You chose the manner of the clip (simplified article, pdf, etc) and send that clip to a notebook, where a new note is created each time. There's no dragging or mousing in the process of getting a web clip to EN. I'd suggest using tags as a way to organize your research per chapter. So, you'd organize the notes as separate chapters (chapter 1, 2, x). You separately create tags for the research for each chapter (tag name= chpt.1research, chpt.2research, etc). Assign the correct tag when you clip. I'm in safari, ymmv.
  20. thanks for taking the time to try it. Not sure why I seem to be the problem child....
  21. Point taken. For me, I have a number of tasks that I need to track and be reminded on, but don't need a note. While it may not be EN's strength, I'd rather not run two systems-and I find EN really useful and want to stay (edited for info). 🤷‍♂️
  22. No worries, I may not be very clear. I keep all my tasks on a single note with links to other supporting notes as an implementation of GTD. My big question is...when creating tasks in those two methods described above, why does pasting the internal link into the task create two different outcomes? One outcome is good and normal, the other combines two tasks into one with the pasted link in the middle of the task text....thanks.
  23. Looking for some help, anyone experience this before and can suggest a fix?? Background: working in the current version local application on a Mac. I use a single note and place all my To-Do's there as individual tasks. If the individual tasks are more involved and need to things like tracking progress, multiple steps, etc., then I have a separate notebook with a project note for each of the To-Do tasks that require it. I will copy the link (app link, not web link) and paste it into the individual task text. Not pretty, but works until the tasks feature becomes more evolved. My problem is this: when pasting the link, I get different outcomes based on how I created the task. If I create the task by placing the curser somewhere in the note body, and hitting the + button to create a new task, then pasting the link into the task works fine. If I create several tasks one after the other by hitting the 'return' key after a task to create an additional tasks, then pasting a note link into one of the tasks combines that task (with the link just pasted) with the task created directly below it. Screenshot 1... shows the tasks before pasting links. The name of the task explains how the task was created (using the + button versus using the + button then creating additional tasks by hitting "return" key) Screenshot 2 shows the same note link pasted into the first task and the third task. You can see that the first two tasks were the ones that combined together when I pasted the link into the first (upper most) task, also converting the first word of the second task into part of the link. odd. thanks in advance.
  24. I will only turn on sound effects if it includes tribble sounds.
