  1. Somewhat off thread topic, but the Notion importer from EN is iffy. Break your import down into single notebooks, otherwise it looks like a successful import but is missing items.
  2. Man, I can understand price increases over time but this is pretty big in a single event. Obviously, if it's worth the price to the user---than that's what it is but it sure makes me think harder about ending my flirtation with Notion and jumping in 100%.
  3. I'm generally cold to the idea. I've only found one area that is intriguing-I'm playing in Notion and asked it (I hate saying AI, maybe algorithm is a better call-sign) to find all my action items in a note. That was kind of handy, even if each of the action items lacked the context they were pulled from. Interesting, but is it worth the BenSpoon folks taking time away from completing existing development expectations? Nope.
  4. Icons work also. I use "!" to order several (not all) notebooks.
  5. @AlanHSo weird. Have you tried turning it off and on again 🤣(kidding)
  6. Good luck to you, post back and let us know how it went. Love to your family, cancer sucks.
  7. hmm. I just switched to monthly last month as my annual was about to renew and I wanted to see what bending spoons would do. Just checked-my annual price for a personal plan hasn't increased yet (US based user). Their existing mobile software is expensive, but maybe there's value for those folks that use it? For me, Notion appears to be the only viable PlanB, and I'm exploring. Honestly, the need to organize my work is worth a pretty penny. The real question is which tool is the right one. Notion has some neat concepts, and a few negatives. Time will tell. I'll keep following this thread, I find the variability in pricing showing up to be an odd practice for a company right after a acquisition. Maybe they don't know how engaged the users are in the forum?. We're going to talk....
  8. there used to be a OneNote importer that would import notebooks from Legacy Evernote. Looks like Microsoft pulled that importer this fall. I can't find a copy of the tool on the googles. OneNote has zero useful forums or discussions for support. You'll see a forum post every blue moon that helps you out, but that's it. You're probably best to follow @gazumped .
  9. "Contains forward looking statements" I think would have been the disclaimer under Small's statement on profitability had they been publicly traded... 🤣 But, the update pace has diminished and I'm waiting for the improvements to tasks that have been referred to (and the promised outlook integration). Patience is a virtue, but my patience is being measured monthly now versus an annual subscription...
  10. There's an old thread on this, but I had to search to learn about it. Had never heard of helper before. The forum has a brief page on it, dated early 2019 but the EN help section on it is undated. What version EN are you running?
  11. three horizontal bars on very bottom left reduces folder tree to icons. Black square with diagonal arrows in the upper left of note expands the note to the left.
  12. I know that I'm less a tech pro than many on this forum, but I gave OneNote a honest go for a year, and ditched it about two years ago. Two main reasons I left, and one of them was the sync. The flexibility you ask for is exactly why I hated their sync. Some notebooks synced, some not...delays in auto sync and I would jump into a manual sync before I unplugged and jumped in the truck...pretty soon I had no confidence in the local copy on my tablet. Based on this post and others of yours, it sounds like EN isn't what you're looking for.
  13. @KCAngiPost back what you hear from support, if you would. I just noticed that MS Teams isn't available on a Personal subscription (according to EN website), I've used that ability only a little in the past, but I get the same error as you now...thx
  14. Agreed, I can't see this on the open web (United States). But if I access my account via desktop app (mac) that links to web, and then click 'upgrade' I can see pricing structure. On another note, when comparing plans on their front facing website (with no pricing shown), it shows that it requires the Professional subscription to integrate with MS Teams. That used to be a Personal subscription feature, I thought. I know I briefly used it with my Personal subscription a couple of months ago...just tried to do it again and get an error. bummer.
  15. My death spiral comment is, as I stated, a bit dramatic. And only one of the options I wrote. And I might be wrong. Pulling a couple words from a previous post risks losing the context. Like I said, we're all just guessing since we're not hearing anything from the new owners (cough, Bending Spoons, cough)
  16. It seems to me there's a couple of ways of looking at this situation. 1. BS buys another company (EN) and goes through consolidation efforts as advised by a 3rd party with experience in the process. Advice from 3rd party (or BS management, or whomever) is may not take into account the user/customer base being so invested in the EN product. It is our second brain, after all, and it's worrisome for those of us who have so much time and info organized in their product. Users will be OK after a period of time as things shake out. 2. EN is in the early stages of a death spiral (OK, maybe overly dramatic). Either way, only time will tell. Our guesses are simply guesses. I plan to stick with it, but I've switched to a monthly payment plan until more is known. 🤷‍♂️
  17. The metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it.
  18. In settings, then preferences you can navigate to change preferences for tasks. Check the automatic task reminders and choose your timing. Make sure notifications are allowed f or EN on whatever OS you're using to allow desktop notifications.
  19. I can find my completed tasks, they live in the 'completed' section of the tasks view. If I complete a task, and then click the trash icon to delete it, does anyone know where it goes? (yes, I looked in the trash). Thanks much. Mac, current OS. EN desktop app, current version.
  20. EN's shtick is an electronic second brain with superior organizing tools. Tasks are designed to be captured in the correct context (a note) and completed. Printing kind of ruins the point (and defeats the paid subscription model)....I don't think you'll see that task printing option becoming available in any future releases.
  21. I create tasks all the time with links in the task title that take me to another note. I link to other EN Notes and to websites in the task title. It's ugly, as you see the link location versus being able to modify the text of your choice (e.g. the word 'link') to be your link, but it works.
  22. After I complained in a ticket, the answer was that the promo effort (pop-up's) would continue until the marketing period ended. I think it has, my pop-ups stopped yesterday. I was really annoyed, and they put the banners/ads right where I was trying to work, so I hear your frustration. On flip side, I subscribe to a lot of databases/services for work, and most of them are shameless self promoters. It seems to be the way of things right now. (I did switch my annual subscription to a monthly last week, to see what the bending spoons thing is like before I commit to another year, perhaps that affected the promo for me).
  23. I'm generally laid back but promo's were showing up all over including my note list. Got frustrated and started a support ticket. Their answer was "sorry, can't do anything about it and it will continue to show up until the promotional period ends". 😒
  24. @Scott T.thanks for being on the forum. reassuring to know that staff are still present and involved after the ownership change. 👍
