✔ Splitting merged notes

I have stupidly merged some notes in a note book that really makes it difficult to read them. There must be a process in order to split them back to the original individual notes.

Does anyone out there please help me.

Hi thebutchersboy,

There is no method within Evernote to split merges notes at the moment.

It is possible to get your original notes back though. When you merge notes, the originals are moved to the trash folder.

So, check the Trash to find your notes. They can be restored from there.

It can be a little tricky to find the unmerged notes in the trash folder. Reording the Trash by note title worked the best for me.

I've come up with a way to do this more simply! When you have selected all of the notes you want to merge, select "email" instead of "merge." Instead of your usual email address, mail the notes to your Evernote account. Voila! They will turn up merged in your inbox (or other assigned notebook) and your original notes will remain intact. Hope this helps someone else!

If you just did the merge, it's very easy to sort the trash by delete date.  The most recently deleted notes are the ones you're looking for.

Thank goodness for Trash! I'm new to Evernote. I felt clever after merging four carefully-selected articles ... until I wanted them separate again. Your suggestion worked, Scott

Please HELP!! Oh where Oh where have my little notes gone?

 

I accidentally merged notes and the originals are not in the trash folder.

I copy the notes I'll merge to a notebook called "Sammanslagna" (merged)

If anytime goes wrong I have the original somewhere
