A few keyboard shortcuts aren't working, such as Command+I for italics and Command+U for underline (although Command+B for bold does work).

Double-checked to see if it is working for me on MacOS this morning -- and it is. (Evernote version 10.62.3-mac-ddl-public, MacOS version 13.6)

I've tried multiple Evernote restarts and re-installs, and it's still not working.

This is Evernote version 10.62.3-mac-ddl-public, MacOS version 12.7. I've tried it also on MacOs 10 and 11, but neither of them have worked (and my laptop is too old to get MacOS 13)

The spelling autocorrection isn't working either.

Weird. Do Ctrl-I Cmd-I and Ctrl-U Cmd-U work fine in other apps like Pages and Notes?

Oops -- meant Cmd not Ctrl

Yes, they work fine in other apps. And Ctrl-B does work on Evernote.

Hi.  Have you tried installing the latest version from Evernote.com?  We're now at 10.62.5...

Hi. I've just downloaded Evernote 10.62.5 and the same problems persist: Ctrl-I and Ctrl-U and spelling autocorrection are not working on my MacOS 12.7.

"ctrl"-something ? On a Mac ? Which commands should this execute ?

You probably mean "cmd" - something ( ⌘ - something ). Correct ? cmd-I is a general shortcut for "Information", or in another context for "Italic", cmd-U is a general shortcut for "Underline". Spelling autocorrection is not (was never) available on v10. Spell checking is there, if enabled in app settings, but no auto correct. Both work as expected, making selected text Italic or bold.

In the list of legacy shortcuts for the Mac no "ctrl" shortcuts are listed.

Sorry - I might have steered OP wrong there when I incorrectly commented 'Ctrl' vs 'Cmd' after we had both used 'Cmd' in earlier comments.

Yeah, I mean Cmd+I, as per Boot17. Sorry for adding to the confusion.

I think I have started figuring out the problem. I type with the Dvorak keyboard layout (rather than the standard Qwerty). I just tried switching back to Qwerty, and both Cmd+I and Cmd+U DO work with the normal Qwerty keyboard layout.

Cmd+I and Cmd+U work just fine in the Dvorak keyboard layout on other apps (Notes, Pages, Mail, Microsoft Word), so it appears to be an Evernote-Dvorak problem. Can someone check to see if they also have this problem with the Dvorak keyboard layout on a Mac?

Ah! Nice catch. That piqued my memory and there are a few posts about that in the forums and I even posted in one of them over a year ago.

The issue has been submitted to support in the past, but don't know if it's still on their radar. Unfortunately, since there are not many Dvorak users out there it's probably not high on the priority list (if it's even on the list).

That's really annoying but yeah, that seems to be the real problem. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

I've switched to the Dvorak-keyboard-with-Qwerty-command-shortcuts keyboard layout and now both Cmd-I and Cmd-U are working. So that makes it at least workable!

fellow DVORAK  user here

thanks for the tips about getting this to work

to state the obvious for anyone stumbling on this, the keyboard shortcuts are mapped to the QWERTY keyboard.

example:

open evernote helper is control + command + N

on dvorak, thats the keyboard k key

which doesn't work

however the querty key of N (keyboard hardware key) works

you could map out the shortcut to the keyboard K key, but that's reserved for tagging.
