possible Bug

Trimbo

Idea

on my evernote mac desktop app i've noticed that if I highlight a sentence, then enlarge the font after I have haighlighted it, the highlight stays the same size as when it was first highlight. The highlight line 'moves' to the bottom of the sentence. It is rectified by re-highlighting the sentence, but it would be nice if the highlight size moved with the size of the font. This bud also happens when the highlighted text is reduced in size, i.e. the highlight remains the previous size of the text whilst the font shrinks.

Also, not a bug but a request, in mac OS I'm able to use colour to highlight certain files. i usually do this if in a folder there is a key document that is the one I need to reference a lot. This could be a module outline document amongst a bunch of hand out files. In Evernote, it would be so good if I could right click on a note in a notebook collection and add some kind of colour option. I have many notes in my notes books, all the same colour, it would be great to have an option to use colour to differentiate different files and especially for really important files.

Despite those two things I love all things evernote, keep up the good work!

Thanks!

Hello, this is a user forum. EN staff will not read this - if you want to get it fixed, issue a support ticket.

Regarding the highlighter colours, you can watch the videos about recent EN developments. Picking Colours for the highlighter tool is under development.

I'd put it more like "It's possible Evernote staff may read your post, but there's no guarantee. This is first and foremost a user-supported help forum." We'd like to have every single post being reviewed, but we just don't have the dedicated resources for that at the moment.

I'm able to reproduce this issue in the latest available Mac version. That version is not using the latest note editor that we have running in the web client. The issue does not exist there. We are actively working on new desktop and mobile clients built on top of our latest code base. This is a top priority and I hope that we'll have a Mac version available soon. Unfortunately, that means the issue in the existing client will likely not be addressed since we want to actively move our users to the newer clients, and not spend too much resources on fixing non-critical issues in clients we hope to replace in the very near future.

I apologize that we can't immediately address this issue for you, but I hope you understand our priority is to get our users newer clients on which we can more quickly build out the features the community has long been requesting.

I appreciate the clarification; it used to be the case that Evernote staff did read everything here, per commends by Dave Engberg, but his tenure is long over, and the forums have a lot more traffic nowadays, so it's understandable. I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks.

As far as I understand it, the rule was, and continues to be that Evernote staff read Every post. @Shane D.??

Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to get to every single post in the forums, but we do our best to make sure we're aware of trending issues..

That being said, it's always a tremendous help when users like yourself can tag me in when there's something going on that doesn't seem to have our attention yet. 😉

Thanks for explaining how things are followed.

What I really wanted to say is that if a paying user has a problem, he should issue a support ticket, maybe after looking in the forum for a solution posted here. In case of a Bug, it makes no sense to post here ( even worse with an activity log of 10 pages copied into the posting ...) and expect to get things sorted out.

That somebody from staff is watching and from time to time contributing is good, but should probably not be expected.
