Grant837 111
Hi, Is there a user manual for evernote (for windows)? All I wanted to find out was if there where shortcuts to insert time and date. 25 minute later I still do not know. First I clicked on Help expecting a typical index off line help tool to pop up. Nope, off to a web page. Well at least i can search using that. Nope, just a bunch of articles on general topics with no search function. Off to this forum. Searched on ' user manual ', ' user guide ' and, nope, nothing... So now I bow to my fellow users on the forum for explaining what I missed as far as getting detailed instruction on how to use each function of evernote. Oh yeah, and if there are short cuts for inserting time and date. Thanks grant Link to comment
Giacomo22 0
Hi, if you go to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us and input the word date in the search box, it gives you as first result this page https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209004877. Hope this helps Link to comment

Level 5* jefito 5,589 Posted May 17, 2018 Level 5* Share Posted May 17, 2018 A web search on "evernote windows shortcuts" yields, for one, https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209004807-What-are-the-keyboard-shortcuts-in-Evernote-for-Windows-. Not sure how up-to-date it is, but worth reading. Date+Time shortcut, as documented there, is Alt+Shift+D, but Ctrl+; also works, and it's the one that I use. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,667 Posted May 17, 2018 Level 5* Share Posted May 17, 2018 Also worth noting that despite the Ctrl+; option to add dates, I use a 'text expander' app called Phrase Express which will insert the current date and/ or time in a variety of formats to suit my need. I use full dates, then hourly times, forinstance, in an activity log for one project. My system date comes up as 17/05/2018 14:25 , but PE will insert 20180517 1425 with Ctrl+one key press. It's more flexible. Other text expanders are available... Link to comment

I think your best bet is to use the online help which provides useful information from keyboard shortcuts to sharing. That is the closest to a manual. And with all apps growing, changing, upgrading all the time, developers going away from Manuals especially the screenshots change drastically sometimes from version to version too. Assuming the Web page in question was the one @TK0047 linked to, there's a search bar right at the top of the page. I pasted in "shortcuts to insert time and date" and got links to a page with all the shortcut info. Link to comment
Grant837 111
Hi Dave, for me, using Chrome, there is no search box in the upper right, but if I use Edge, I do see it... odd... that is indeed what I would like to see... Link to comment

Very odd indeed. But once again what I believe to be an axiom of contemporary computing comes into play: If something is messed up, blame it on Google. ? Link to comment
