  1. The frustrating thing about this is that partial word search already exists within Evernote, but it only works for search within note (Ctrl-F). They simply need to allow this pre-existing search engine (or whatever programmers call it) to search the entire database. Or am I barking up the wrong tree? In regards to what someone else mentioned, I think it is not necessary to have this capability on all platforms, Windows/Mac should be more than enough, besides we are all used to crippled versions of Evernote on our portable devices. 🙄
  2. Nothing quite that complex, I simply am looking for something easy on the eyes (for eye protection, in view of no night mode, and the built in invert in some devices doesn't work so well because of too much color variety to invert. I may try the new Boox Note ereader since it is a little cheaper than the Max2, Amazon reviews on both Boox devices suggest running Evernote on those devices has already been tried, unfortunately they don't seem to have commented about it on this site.
  3. I would never have subscribed to Evernote if it wasn't for the Plus option, I don't need most of what the Premium option has to offer, and theoretically could go back to a free membership if Plus was eliminated and Premium remains expensive, though it would be somewhat of a hardship to go back now. The real clincher for me is how Evernote has been gradually removing popular features, like night mode in iOS for example, one of the main reasons I never subscribed to Premium in the first place, I truly hate the colors chosen which cannot be changed. It literally took me years to start using Evernote seriously because of the green on white thing. So, if users will never be given the option to control colors, then night mode is a minimum to consider Premium a possibility, but still Premium seems geared to business users rather than personal users like me.
  4. I love wikis, used to use them to keep my data, but I suspect it would not work on Evernote for a few reasons: 1-All the wiki links I have ever seen require the source and destination to be in the same physical file, and while I am not sure how Evernote Notebooks work, Evernote note links don't care where a note resides. 2-Evernote notes are automatically titled by the first line until the title is edited, messing with this line always broke the wikis I worked with before, not so with Evernote. 3-I think Evernote search indexing would be seriously affected by a switch to wiki style linking, because in Evernote, a link cannot be created until a new note is created and saved, so it seems to me they would have to somehow recreate how Evernote works from scratch. On the other hand, I can think of a least one very good reason for wanting a wiki style link system: I exported all my notes from my usual account, then imported them all to a backup account. Not a single note link was preserved, which kind of begs the question of what is the backup even for! If I used this backup to restore my usual account, it would probably destroy all my note links, which took literally years to create and organize, across several software platforms and devices! Yes, it was a wiki system before I moved all the data it to Evernote . . . .
  5. Does anyone run Evernote regularly in an e-ink device? There are very few that are true Android devices, and of the few that are, the better ones (meaning not extremely slow) tend to be rather expensive ($800 for the Boox). I am not really sure about the Nook hack, specially after my old Nook stopped working. I am currently considering the inkBOOK and other devices in its price range since it would not be not such an expensive investment, and it would be small enough to carry everywhere, but the reviews are mixed, and the issues of syncing and editing are not very clear. Any thoughts on this?
  6. Errm, sorry if I am missing something, but where did the 6.7 beta discussion go? Can't find it anymore.
  7. Paste and Match Style: 154 The Urban Dictionary Mug One side has the word, one side has the definition. Microwave and dishwasher safe. Lotsa space for your liquids. BUY THE MUG This is with the old version, the new version would show both pastes with the graphics and full formatting.
  8. I see. Copy and paste from a web page pastes everything including graphics, tables and formatting, as is, in normal paste, or just text in "paste and match style". Your example contained no graphics, just a little formatting (just font size as far as I can tell), could you confirm with an example full of formatting and graphics? Thanks.
  9. I just deleted the new version, I did not see "currently style" in the context menu of the new Windows update. I would be willing to try again, but if you are correct, then what exactly is the difference between "Paste in current style" and "Paste and match style"?
  10. I can't believe this, I waited for the official release because the beta messed up with "Paste and match style", and the official release still doesn't work, both types of paste are identical! I understand if something that was broken before is still broken, but I have difficulty with something that worked fine before being now broken in the official release, particularly when it seems like basic functionality (plain text pasting). Since I don't yet understand what all the fancy dancy new table features are for, and the beta discussion seemed to suggest data corruption may occur because of them, I guess I will go back to the previous version, but honestly, this is annoying. I use plain text pasting everyday, need this feature!!
  11. Just a suggestion, on Windows you can use a simple AutoHotkey script to log out of Evernote whenever required. I took the liberty to go ahead and write one, you can modify it as needed: #o:: Send +#f Sleep 200 Send !f Sleep 100 Send o return Explanation of how this works: 1-the first line calls the script (Windows key + letter O), 2-next line calls Evernote if not in the foreground (I chose the Find Win-Shift-F built-in hotkey) this assumes Evernote is running. 3-the two sleep lines are needed so Evernote can catch up before continuing, increase or decrease the numbers if needed. 4-The two Send lines are what force Evernote to log out. I hope this is helpful to someone, particularly if you already use AutoHotkey (freeware program).
  12. I edited my reply before seeing yours. I wonder if someone already posted that as a feature request (automatic log out after a certain amount of time or upon exit). Most programs I use that require a log in do that much. I do think doing it manually is too much trouble every single time.
  13. If I am not mistaken, you are a Mac user, right? On my Windows machine, Evernote always comes up logged in on every reboot, or even if I exit the program and restart again, it remains logged in. In fact I am not clear how to prevent that from happening automatically, except to manually log out every time, which is simply too much trouble.
  14. Odd that my topic was merged with this one without sending me any notification, no wonder I could not find it!! I understand the need to keeping the forums organized, but really, administrators, notify me at least, I thought my topic was deleted! Anyways, while the two ideas are closely related, they are not identical. Setting an optional read only flag on each note is not good enough for me, I need it as a default setting for all notes under options, so that all notes are read only until I click on some predetermined part of the note, be it a flag or whatever. Thanks for listening.
  15. Was not aware this was asked before I posted mine (I was going to call mine non edit mode). The Android version has this by default, though I suspect it maybe a platform feature, since many Android apps have it.
  16. Hello. Currently the Android app default is to show a note in read only mode, then tap the pencil symbol to edit. This additional step is helpful to prevent accidental edits or deletions. I would like to request the same in Windows as a general setting under options. Too many times an accidental brush of the keyboard or mouse has cause a disaster, which is a discouragement from keeping Evernote open all the time. Thanks for listening.
