  1. to say it loud and clear, as stated in the link DT Low has provided to you: Typewritten text and handwritten notes that are in JPG, PNG, or GIF file format are evaluated by our indexing

just read the provided information. If you have sent an image to EN, their search engine MAY detect text in your handwriting. Please give them a while until the search engine has catched your new content and indexed it.

  2. I restart the App and see the new Home screen. Then I select „all notes“ using the three lines menu at the bottom and switch to reminders view. After opening one of the notes there I‘m not able to scroll through the content of the note. The only thing that works is to use two-finger-gesture to move through the content.

If I restart the App and select exactly the same note within the Home screen (recent notes) then no issue at all.

If I restart the App and select „all notes“ from Home screen, change to reminders view, select the same note no issues at all, too.

So, only using the three lines menu to select „all notes“ and open the note within the reminders view causes the issue.

    iPhone & iPad

  3. I fully agree - everything in a note is also my preferred method incl. handwritten stuff / sketches - or if some more notes are needed just "link" them together via Tags and/or internal links incl. a TOC.

Don't to forget being able to have real checklists within a note - it sounds simple, but, ever tried to do this in e. g. DEVONthink?

And I like to have build-in reminders, too - on Mac, on iOS and Web Client - don't need another tool to manage follow-ups. And, finally, integration of 3rd party Apps via API like Livescribe, Noteshelf and Filterize.net.

  4. Update: it's not related to the notebook: operator - as soon as content is within a shared (to others) notebook, the search result is zero, independently what the search query is looking for (e. g. if you search for a specific tag, then nothing is found as long as the notes are within a shared notebook)

OK, if a query contains a notebook: operator and the notebook is shared to others then nothing is found. As soon as I change my query to a non-shared notebook everything works fine.

Are there any changes made on the API side? Unfortunately still zero feedback from Filterize.net

  5. Hi All,

am I alone with that problem? I recently realized some table-of-contents notes are empty (Filterize.net footnote says "sorry, no notes found").

The problem seems to be the TOC search query doesn't get any result - if I copy & paste that query into Evernote.app everything works fine.

Today I did some more investigation.I tried to do a as simple as possible query in the Filterize TOC configuration to isolate the problem. I tried just "notebook:WEG" and the search didn't get any notes (this notebook exists, of course and has a lot of notes). Then I tried "notebook:__Inbox" and it immediately brought back all notes within that notebook. Unfortunately I'm not able to isolate the problem furthermore - I've a mix of shared and private notebooks and this doesn't make any difference, some shared work, some not.

I already renewed the authorization of Filterize.net - didn't fix anything. I contacted Filterize.net but still waiting for feedback.

  6. Hi All,

just a short overview that explains why Evernote is still my #1 🙂

From time to time I try out different services / tools / approaches and I always come back to that picture.

Maybe of interesting for you when wondering "why should I use Evernote?".

To be clear: that's how I (that's me) use Evernote - there are different Apps (e. g. Scanner) - and there are different approaches (e. g. automate via AppleScript) - which may better fit to your needs - it gives you an overview what you can do: a single place to store almost everything, organize it, find it - with less effort as possible.

"Auto-Sync" is not just a simple "auto upload" - it keeps documents up2date in Evernote, automatically, as soon as you change them outside of Evernote - even if you have moved them to different notebooks and tagged the notes as you need it.

  7. Hi all,

I ran into a problem not being able to remove links within a note.

Support Ticket was open - now re-open.

It seems I‘ve found the root cause: if I disable ‚edit protection‘ in Preferences then removal does work.

This seems to be an UI problem when ‚edit protection‘ is active - after tapping the three dots to enter ‚edit link menu‘ the edit mode turns off and the removal of the link cannot be applied.

Am STUNNED that NO ONE from EN support has even responded to the original post on 11 Nov.  It is now Nov 23 (Nov 22 in USA)  I'll repeat the important part of the post -
<< EVERNOTE: Please help fix this, so we can change/add images to existing notes, without recreating them every time! :o

I have chosen NOT to recreate my images as I tried EN on teh web and the items are still rendering (and updating correctly)

So is my Win 10 DT (which is still on DL V10 rather then app store V10)

SO how about it?  If not EN support or development, we would appreciate assistance from anyone from the community

    Thanks,
    Larry

this is a user forum - I recommend to open a support ticket based on your PREMIUM subscription no problem at all.

Yeah. I’m aware of all that. Thank you for the details though. But as my picture shows when I was in airplane mode and fired up EN nothing was on the screen but blackness. Nothing. Most of the time it works fine. But this time it did not. I have not been able to replicate it every time yet, but when it randomly happens it is very frustrating. I believe it has to do with the way the iPhone handles what is stored in memory short term. But EN should make this data permanently downloaded.

I saw this behavior today, too. I was in flight mode and after opening the App, everything was gone - no Favorites, no Notebooks, no nothing.

I found a position in the area with at least Edge mobile internet - re-opened Evernote and with poor speed suddenly all Favorites and Notebooks were back.

After turning on Flight Mode again, Evernote did continue to work - after force quit and re-start, still in Flight Mode, everything was fine, too.

So, without this small and poor mobile connection it seems I'd have trouble to get Evernote working properly today...
