Good luck, and thanks for your forum contributions

    Just wondering about the"Applescript" use
I found the Evernote export useful, except metadata ended up embedded

the new Environment (you know which one) is providing an import feature based on AppleScript, easy for me to use

No,  it's not - check their website.  And - it's nothing to do with Evernote anyway!  B)

Filterize will shut down end of 2022 - you're no longer able to sign up for annual subscription anymore - sure, Filterizer.net has 'nothing' to do with Evernote, but it was handling tons of automation steps for me. Since EN doesn't provide anything like that right now (and I don't have any info something like this will arrive) this is just one more reason for me to leave. The new environment does provide automation (it's not a cloud service but a desktop application), so I have a replacement for that part.

Update: just saw your comment about a possible investor in a different post - OK, hope they'll continue for all the remaining 'power users' 🙂

  3. I'm leaving Evernote early 2022 - why?

    • loosing automation via Filterize.net (service is shutting down)
    • V10 is much too slow, much too hungry for resources, has a cumbersome UI (too many clicks needed)
    • V10 has dropped the REAL tag filter
    • V10 is displaying HTML badly (HTML frames are much too narrow on mobile devices)
    • still no Atlas (gone long time ago) - and some new features I'm not interested in (Home, Tasks)

    a pity, but inevitable

    ===

this was not an easy decision (long-term use), but now it finally had to be done. I have almost 10,000 notes - thanks to Apple Script the data is quickly migrated to the new environment - I don't lose anything (e. g. all Tags are taken over) - only the reminders I have to transfer manually, done step by step without rushing.

I wish you all the best, stay healthy and happy ☺️

  4. I use both, notes as a ‚task‘ (simple ones, simple use case, just a reminder to that note containing something to do based on a checkmark or checkmark list or some highlighted text) and notes with embedded tasks. Embedded tasks are nice if there is something more complex with several tasks and different due dates -> the note is then more a „container“ for a bunch of tasks incl. space for comments and a good overview - and a note can be easily shared to others.

But, it‘s true, I‘ve to take care about two sections in Evernote: my due notes and my due tasks - there is potential for „confusion“ but I‘m getting used to it 🙂

The only war cry I hear is „I, I, I“. Oh, it is inconvenient for me, so it must be severe.

We do not disagree it is a bug. We just disagree on how severe this problem really is.

    Check of facts:

    • No data is lost.
    • There is a workaround, tap on the web clip, tap on the magic wand, the clip is simplified, done. This is a simple workaround. Works for everybody who is interested in the content, not the HTML code that is removed.
    • If you need to preserve the original post until a fix is released, you need to duplicate the note before simplifying it. This may be seen as a complex workaround, taking a whoooooping chain of 2 simple actions to perform.

And that is all that is about it.

But anyhow, you are leaving. Good - you will probably live a much less stressful live after. I am sure about it ….

Sorry, but I have to disagree - using the magic wand destroys the formatting, as you know, and that's "changing" the content of a note - I don't want to do that on every f**** HTML frame within those notes just to be able to read it.

So, the consensus is, it's a bug 🙂 and it hurts ME a lot.

And another update ... and again no fix. Anyone in for a bet that they will never fix it? I am pretty sure they consider the iOS version, well, an iOS version and not an iPadOS version. So as long as everything works fine on an iPhone, they will never ever even consider changing or fixing anything. I doubt they even have an iPad to test the app at Evernote.

the problem exists on my iPhone 12 Pro, too - sure, the iPhone is more narrow than my iPad, but even there it's boring to scroll horizontally line by line to read the famos last two words of every line...

Boring, broke my productivity on iOS again.

I just re-opened my previous support ticket and „reminded“ them the problem is still not resolved - I‘m not able to read HTML frame based content on iOS devices, e. g. forwarded emails, web clipped notes, … since many weeks 😞😡

I'm late, I got feedback quickly - thank you Support Team - they're working on it, it's known, hopefully fixed in next release.

    Will see...

But what's not working with these current notifications - the links to the message (https://www.evernote.com/redirect?_h=<destination address>) can not be resolved anymore. Browser finally says "Page not found" - is this known by Evernote Customer Support Team?

clicking on the link is working here - even on iOS, I was just re-directed to the Evernote.app and it showed the correct note.
