  1. I think that's a good suggestion! Posting here is a great way to make suggestions, as Evernote staff do read these forums. You can also submit a support ticket with your request if you want to make darn sure that Evernote has heard your suggestion.
  2. Rosalita, I've flagged your post here for staff attention to see if that gets some support action on it sooner rather than later. Keep in mind tomorrow is an american holiday so if you don't here from anyone today, you won't hear from anyone until Monday.
  3. That sounds frustrating. Is your PC a Windows PC? If so, here's a related thread: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/58475-penultimate-notes-cut-off-when-viewing-in-windows/ Looks like some other folk are experiencing it, but no solution has been found yet. You may consider opening a support ticket with Evernote in case they do have some suggestions, and also to let them know that you are experiencing a problem that should likely be investigated.
  4. That's up to you really. That is an option, if you have a version of the application backed up somewhere. You'd have to jump back several versions though. It really might not be an adequate solution. Otherwise, I provided three links that explain my preferred PDF reading/annotating workflow that may also be worth a try. Lots of possibilities.
  5. JMichaels suggestion has other benefits as well, such as being able to ensure that the scan quality is sufficient and doesn't contain errors, or apply any other processing that might be desired such as OCR or encryption.
  6. Ah, this appears to be a premium feature (sorry, I've been premium for a number of years and so I often forget what is premium only!) That is a bit frustrating... That being said, I don't do much PDF annotation in Evernote on my iOS devices, in many cases I have't found it suited my needs. Perhaps you might consider adopting a different workflow. I have a number of other iOS PDF reading/annotating workflows and reasons for them. I describe them in a few places: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/56837-pen-pdf-annotation-in-skitch/?p=272107 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/54410-can-i-move-all-my-pdfs-in-ibooks-on-my-ipad-to-my-evernote-account/?p=264217 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/59324-better-pdf-scrollingannotating-switching-experience/?p=278344
  7. Ah, I see, you want conventional highlights (a reasonable request that I too would make use of). I don't remember the last time the PDF viewer built into Evernote offered the ability to highlight like.... Months and months ago. You must have updated your application and leapfrogged over a bunch of versions. This is unrelated to having moved the note to a different notebooks. So, the answer to your question is, conventional highlighting is not (as of many months ago) an option in Evernote's built-in PDF viewer. A bit of a drag if this was integral to your workflow! In the meantime, you can experiment with the free-hand highlighting (which will also produce a handy annotation summary at the top of the PDF so you can easily jump to your highlighted sections). There should be some rather impressive changes to this whole experience when Apple releases iOS 8 in the fall, developers will have more flexibility in using tools from other applications, so you might see some more flexibility in PDF viewing and annotation in Evernote in the fall.
  8. More or less identical process. My original post, above, should apply to both devices. Could you be more specific about when exactly you are encountering difficulty? Are you able to open the PDF at all? Can you locate the annotate button? Are you table to see a selection of tools? Please provide more information about what specific hurdle you are encountering so we can provide some more details help, if my original post doesn't already solve the problem.
  9. That's why there should be a preference to set YOUR OWN default time not one chosen by Evernote. Good point.
  10. There isn't currently any way to bulk rename attachments. The fastest workflow for an existing attachment might be to copy the note title, THEN select rename attachment, and paste over the pre-populated name. Another option I might recommend is for new notes, change the name of the file to whatever you want the note title to be. This way, you can drag and drop the attachment into a notebook or onto the Evernote icon and the note that is created will take on the title of the file you just attached. Of course, this wouldn't necessarily work if you are attaching a file to an existing note. I think the general idea behind the request is sound. However there are some technical challenges I can predict, namely, how to handle notes with multiple attachments. Do all the attachments in that note get identical names? This could be terribly confusing for a user (if I had three images in a note all with the same name!) and for the computer (opportunity for files with identical names to overwrite eachother). You could add a numerical suffix, I suppose, but depending on how attachments are stored in the database these suffixes might not correspond to the order the attachments appear in the note (I don't know anything about this though but it is a potential issue). Definitely consider your request made, as EN staff do frequent these boards! But, alas, it is ultimately up to them if/when this gets implemented!
  11. Once you open the PDF in Evernote, tap the annotate button to enter annotation mode (the mode with all the tools at the right). You can tap on the tool that looks like a pen/pencil. This is the "draw" tool, and when you select this tool you should have two options, the pen/pencil, or a rhombus with the letter A inside. The rhombus is your highlighter tool.
  12. I can imagine this is frustrating! I encounter this from time to time. You aren't doing anything wrong! Just a bit of application quirkiness. Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Evernote on your device. Other things to try: 1) Killing the app completely (double tap home button then swipe up on the app) and restarting your phone 2) Uninstalling and re-installing the application (if you sync just before doing this you won't lose any data) That has typically cleared things up for me in the past.
  13. What you appear to have there is a stack called "golf" and a series of notebooks called "Golf - Paul Koop" "Gold - Cswing" etc. The sort of "hierarchy" is as follows: Stack>notebooks>note So you'd have: Golf>Golf - Paul Koop>Note Title
  14. Log out of the iPad by selecting your user name at the top and tapping "log out". Then log in using the same email/username and password you have used on your iPhone and elsewhere such as on your computer.
  15. IFTTT provides some information that might be helpful in diagnosing this. 1) In IFTTT, it shoudl say the number of times a recipe has fired. Does this number correspond to the number of triggers? So, if you were to check the number now, then go and save a video for later in youtube, and check that number again (after an appropriate delay, since IFTTT only queries every few minutes), does that number increment by 1? 2) Does the number of times a recipe has fired correspond to the number of notes created in Evernote? 1 and 2 will help figure out whether the recipe is firing properly or not, and whether the problem is on the YouTube or Evernote trigger. For example, it might be the case that the recipe isn't even firing at all, in which case nothing would show up in Evernote. Possibly the recipe does fire, but nothing shows in Evernote, in which case there may be an issue with the EN trigger. 3) IFTTT provides an error log for each recipe. If you look at this, is there anything that indicates an error is occurring with the recipe you are having problems with? This could reveal an issue with something like being improperly logged into one or the other service. 4) Peruse the support resources provided by IFTTT in case they offer some insight that Evernote users here might not have.
  16. What specific issues are you experiencing? Are you on the Mac or on Windows? If Mac, try the latest beta to see if that resolves your issue, there are some fixes for lists in the current beta release. Thanks for the reply. The same issues reported by Jim smartlumens.Frey on December 11, 2013, post #20 of this thread; https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/33973-feature-fix-fix-outline-formatting-issues/#entry247406 , Observed on Windows and Android. I do not remember if I see it on the iPad or not. This has the feel of a rewrite and/or restructure class issue, so I can understand the slow going on a fix. However this seems like a fundamental feature for an Evernote type of product, so best to dig in, and get into the rear view mirror. Thanks again, HMmm well we are just now starting to see the fruits of EN's labour on the text editor trickle through the beta gates on a few platforms so we will have to see where it goes. I too suspect much of this is re-write, so indeed, this isn't an overnight thing! Hope your issue is resolved sooner than later though!
  17. Much of the stuff made by bamboo is pretty well regarded. I would recommend doing a quick google search for android-compatible styluses, learn who the big companies making good stylus are, and read some reviews. A quick google search turned up these few posts that might give you some insight: http://www.androidcentral.com/just-mobile-alupen-review http://www.androidcentral.com/adonit-jot-pro-stylus-review

  19. Variations on this have been discussed at length and I think something along these lines could be nice. Here's a recent, related discussion: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/62529-feature-request-secured-or-locked-notes/
  20. The trouble is, what works for one person inevitiably won't work for another. 8AM is a perfectly fine default for me. Often for "all day" things like "submit this form on this day", 8am does not need to be changed. If it were, say, 12pm, the number of times I'd have to change away from the default would go up (I change from default about 75% of the time anyway). I suppose it isn't a big deal since I can easily change the time so I wouldn't get too worked up about a different default... But my main point is that a default is fairly arbitrary and will invariably not work for some people. If they change the default, a whole new set of people will get miffed and request the default get changed again. And so on.
  21. Sounds like very reasonable advice. Might as well do research and avoid nasty surprises.
  22. Hey no worries! Happens to everyone all the time. We all need to be told to "check to see if it's plugged in" from time to time.
  23. Are you sure that it isn't just a matter of the button having been removed from the toolbar? Can you confirm that the clipper is truly not installed by going to Safari>Preferences>Extensions and seeing whether the Clipper is in the list of installed extensions? If does appear in that list, return to your browser window right/ctrl-click on the toolbar and select "customize toolbar" and drag the clipper icon to the location of your choice on the toolbar.
  24. Ok so it looks like presentation mode is working as designed. Is airturn working for you?
  25. Thanks for the tip, Dan---I wouldn't have found that either. Wish we had the option to edit fields on the desktop version; that's typically where I need the most latitude. In the latest 5.6 public beta for mac, you can edit fields though it doesn't look like you can add a field.
