There's lots of discussion on this forum that you can search for, and up-vote the feature requests. The bottom line is - No; this is not a feature. Various work arounds have been suggested. My solution is to switch to title sequence and control "pinning" by prefixing the note title. For example, all my project master notes are prefixed with "-", as in -Project: xxxxx

Regards Another workaround that some use is to modify the updated date or created date of the note, if either is your sort sequence, such that that note appears at the top of the list. This only works well if you don't modify the pinned note that often. Or you can put the note in the shortcuts bar.
