Joe Lopez 108
Skitch Mac users! If you are running Mavericks and have been running into bugs we need your help. We've been receiving reports of various Mavericks related issues, but they seem to vary from install to install. In order to help us track down some these issues we'd like your input. Please post to this thread if you encounter any bug. Use the format below to help us out, since a simple statement of "doesn't work" does not provide us with a lot of information to work with. We appreciate your support in making Skitch a better product. Thanks! Format to use:Description <- Required. Describe what happened (or doesn't happen). Provide as much detail as possible.Skitch Version <- Required. Found by going to About Skitch.Mac App Store or Direct Download <- Optional. If you remember where you got it, please let us know.OS X Version <- Required. Found by going to About this Mac. Saying Mavericks is not enough info, we need to know which seed/build number.Activity Log <- Optional, but highly useful. Found by going to Skitch->Help->Activity Log. Copy and paste that block of text either into your message or attach as a text file. Link to comment

scmacmac 0
Cannot launch Evernote (5.3.0 and previous) on 2013 MacBook Air running Mavericks Beta 8. From memory, Evernote worked on the early Betas. However, subsequent to Beta 4 (I think), I now get this on launch: 1. progress window that says "migrating notes from previous version"2. immediately another popup that says "An internal database error has occurred that prevents Evernote from functioning properly. If the problem persists, please contact Evernote Support" Nothing further happens at this point and it quits. As a premium subscriber, I reported the issue back in August, and provided some logs but was eventually told this was a Mavericks issue and that Evernote was not supporting Mavericks until official release. This is further complicated by advice I got during this period to move some files around. (I think I must have got this advice on the phone from Evernote, because I can find no email instruction to do this.) So, I have an Evernote folder on my desktop with these folders, which amount to about 2.2 GB [XXX is an alias for my user name] file:///Users/XXX/Desktop/Evernote/accounts/file:///Users/XXX/Desktop/Evernote/bootstrap/file:///Users/XXX/Desktop/Evernote/logs/file:///Users/XXX/Desktop/Evernote/skus/file:///Users/XXX/Desktop/Evernote/undo%20support/ In my Library/Containers folder, also amounting to about 2.2 GB, I have a com.evernote.Evernote folder with a variety of folders whose names don't seem to match what I put on my desktop. I don't know if this moving (or was it just copying?) has screwed things up even worse. So for the time being I am using the web version of Evernote, which is syncing nicely with my iOS devices. I look forward (understatement) to a Mavericks-compatible Evernote release, but am concerned that my file-moving may prove to be a problem at that time. Any help or info greatly appreciated. Joe Lopez 108
@scmacmac - I responded to you via your private message. I did forget to add that both Evernote and Skitch are not actively supported in Mavericks right now as the betas are ongoing and there are still a lot of bugs getting ironed out Mavericks which are causing issues with our apps. We plan on having Mavericks releases available when Mavericks goes live. Link to comment

Joe Lopez 108
@ShakataGaNai - Thanks. Two factor signin is a known problem, though we're still trying to track down the cause since this does not depend upon any OS X functions. Link to comment
halfpress 0
I'm running the latest Skitch on the Mavericks GM. On my single-display MacBook Air it has worked (so far as I can tell) perfectly for the last few betas and this new GM. On my dual-screen iMac, however, my crosshair snapshots ONLY select the secondary display. I can't draw a crosshair whatsoever on my primary display no matter which is active when I trigger a crosshair snap. I've tried quite a few ways to try to influence the behavior, but it seems to totally ignore my primary display on crosshairs. Fullscreen shots, however, do work on the primary. Hope this is useful! - Aaron Link to comment

Joe Lopez 108
@maxxo1 - Thanks. That's an odd one. We'll try and replicate and see what the issue is. One thing to note with Evernote now having Markup directly inside of it, we're changing the functionality to let Evernote be the main markup client when working with an image already inside of Evernote, and if a user wants to open it in Skitch they'll need to right click and select Open with from the menu and chose Skitch. Joe Lopez 108
@ErverUser & Jmart 556 - If you are opening PDFs in Evernote and then opening in Skitch and on the first open not seeing annotations showing while you're drawing them, but either they show as thumbnails or on a subsequent save/open, then you are hitting a PDF bug in OS X 10.9. We filed a bug with Apple and they are aware of the issue and working on a fix for it, but it is inherent to the way OS X renders PDFs. We have implemented several workarounds, but they are not fixes for the bug. What you can try doing is opening up the PDF in either Skitch or Evernote and seeing if your annotations render in one client or the other. I know it is odd to say that, but we have observed there are times when OS X will render properly with one client vs. the other on the first try. Likewise we have seen it work simply starting a new note with the same PDF. @fergycool - There is a bug with the way Skitch is capturing a single click capture (trying to capture just a single window) on secondary monitors which results in a capture region of just 1 pixel by 1 pixel. We're working on a fix for that. In the mean time region capture works fine between monitors, so if you can use that and crop to grab your image that will let you get a window. For Full Screen you simply need to move the Skitch window to the monitor you want to capture. For Full Screen (assuming that's something you want to do) would your expected behavior be to capture all monitors or just the one where the Skitch app is currently sitting? Link to comment

Gonzofan 0
Timed snaps don't work on any of my three monitors. I get the beep, can select the menu and open it, but when the snap is taken, it's just the unopened menu. Voila works through. I like the idea of a separate keystroke command to trigger the menu capture. Skitch works better with the markup tools - less confusing. Link to comment
Bram Heerink 3
Description - when opening an image or PDF within Evernote through integrated Skitch, I can not see any of the annotations on the image while in Skitch. When I close Skitch I can see what was done in the note. When I open the note in skitch again I can see the annotations but not change/delete any annotations. Skitch Version <- Using Evernote - Version 5.4.1 (402013) with Skitch integrated Mac App Store or Direct Download <- N/A OS X Version <- OSX 10.9 Build 13A598 Activity Log <- N/A I seem to have exactly the SAME problem, also annotations made with an other Device are showing correctly Need this feature for my Studies! Pls.fix fast Same here. And in the middle of a semester. Throwing off my study rhythm. Anyone got another pdf editor that works w/ evernote until a fix is available? I am having the same issue with since I upgraded to Skitch 2.7. PDF annotation does not work anymore. Regards, Bram Heerink Link to comment
Joe Lopez 108
@jgro2 - I've let one of our QA Engineers know so they can investigate your logs. @Gozofan - We're aware of the issue and looking for a fix. Right now you can get them to work through this work around:On your primary screen (where Skitch launches) you can use timed Screen Snaps without any issues (at least we haven't seen any)On any additional screen, you need to enable advanced options for Screen Snaps (Under Preferences). Once you do that after you select your region you want to capture, just click on the Clock icon in the Advanced Options box and a timed Screen Snap will begin.@Bram - Can you provide some more details? There are already several threads about PDF issues, and depending upon which one you're running into there might be a workaround or we are aware and working on a fix. Link to comment

SallySeusse 1
After downloading Mavericks, I can no longer access my desktop Evernote. I get this message: "An internal database error has occurred that prevents Evernote from functioning properly. If the problem persists, please contact Evernote Support." I followed the online suggestions to drag the file out of the Library Finder and onto the Desktop. The first time I did it, it opened and worked properly. Then I turned off my computer. When I restarted, I got the same error message, so I followed the same procedure:The 2nd time I did it, it opened and worked properly. Then I turned off my computer. When I restarted, I got the same error message, so I followed the same procedure:The 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th times I did it, it won't open at all.Now my desktop Evernote is totally unusable. It just won't open. I get the internal database error message every time I try. Evernote doesn't answer my request for support emails. Update: Still no answer from Evernote, but after totally trashing all Evernote stuff from my Mac and reinstalling it, it opened today for the first time since I installed Mavericks. Link to comment

rmkr13 0
Installed Mavericks yesterday...tried using skitch...it would not let me use various tools, as it would crash. Installed Skitch 2.7 & tried using eraser & fill tools, only to find out they don't exist. Not a good call to dump these, had I known that the old Skitch would not be compatible, I never would have upgraded to Mavericks in the first place. Are there plans to bring back eraser &/or fill tools? Link to comment
