Exported html notes loose links to contained files

Hi all

 I am finding that exporting to multiple html files still works as previously however the html version of each note looses its link to the files previously contained in the note.  The files are exported (eg pdfs) however they show in the html file as an untitled attachment, with no link to the associated folder and file.  Previously the "attachment marker" showed the name, file type and linked to the file in the associated sub directory.  I use the export to multiple html files to share blocks of notes to dropbox, giving access to non evernote users with an interest in those notes.  The index file created on export still works as previously, but seeing the complete note content linked to the index file is now more difficult.  You now need to search out the associated note sub directory to discover the files the note contained.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this shortly ?????

This has been an issue with exports to HTML for sometime. You should be sure to raise a support ticket to add your voice to the issue. Be sure to respond to all the details in the automated first response to get any action.

This bug was introduced with v10.

It’s now going into it’s 4 year of existence.

Tickets haven’t changed it, obviously it is more sexy to invent new features than fixing long standing bugs.

It practically reduces the HTML export to a convenient tool if one wants to extract attachments from notes.

Hmmn.  If you simply require a backup or human readable copy of your Evernote notes/ notebooks, there may be a rather clumsy work-around...see Postach.io.  

It is possible to create an independent Postach.io version of the notes in HTML,  which will include valid links to attachments.  Those HTML pages will be readable independently of the Evernote app - although actual printing probably (not yet tested) will still break any links to local attachments.  (You would get a link back to the online file, not an exported attachment)

Postach.io HTML pages are an independent copy of your account - even if Evernote is offline the pages should still be available.

Up to 5 notebook-to-web page conversions are (currently) free.  The online pages are not routinely caught by search engines but beware that anyone with the URL of any note will be able to see the content.  Subscribers can password protect a landing page.
