AppLink vs Backlink??

Is there any difference between AppLink and BackLink?

(e.g. is BackLink just automatically generated by using/pasting an AppLink in Evernote note??)

A backlink is a link back to a note that contains a link to the present note. IOW:

1. In note A, I insert a link to note B (whether an App Link or a Web Link).
2. When I look at note B, I see a backlink to note A.

The notes have to sync, but the backlink is automatically generated.

You really notice this lag if you use the new insert "new linked note" function. The new note is created but it does yet have a backlink. I guess that is why the blue pop up, that appears when you create the note, advises you to use the back button to go back to the original note.

When I link notes, I see the backlink created by itself. But it may take several minutes until it appears.

Yes, I won't say minutes, but in tests (not real-work conditions) 30-60 seconds maybe.
