Evernote 6.25.1 - Default note font problem

Recommended Posts

I've been using Evernote 6.25 since the summer of 2020 and prefer to stick with this version over newer versions for a variety of reasons.

On my previous Windows 10 machine after installing it and getting used to it, I used  Tools | Options | Note to set my note preferences to 14 pt Arial for the note header and 12 pt Arial for the note text.

I recently swapped my Windows 10 machine for a new Windows 11 machine, reinstalled Evernote 6.25.1 and signed in. After updating from the cloud, I set about re-setting my preferences (eg, not Dark mode). I set my note preferences as before, 14 pt. Arial for the note header and 12 pt. Arial for the text.

However, new notes default to 11 pt Arial for the text, not 12 pt. I've checked and rechecked this many times.

At some point I'll probably give up and say oh fine! be that way but honestly it bugs me that my settings -- which show 12 pt for the text in the Options | Note settings menu -- somehow are not carrying over!

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution?

Sadly there are no fixes for any issues with V6 of the Evernote app.

It is abandoned for nearly three years.

If you want to use it you'll need to accept whatever limitations you find.

Sorry.

Really? I do it the same way since many, many years (with Verdana-10 and Verdana-14 😉) and it works fine all the day (including the latest Legacy version).

Are you sure that you do not mix up Arial 10 and 11? Do you have hit Ctrl-PLUS or Ctrl-MINUS by accident?

I definitely have not mistaken the settings.

I'm actually tempted to uninstall and reinstall version 6.25.1 in case something during the reinstall somehow corrupted that particular setting.

I also might try a different default font for the heck of it.

In the meantime, I'm just settling for the note defaulting to 11 pt Arial instead of 12...

I am DEFINITELY not mixing up Arial 10 and 11. Or hitting Ctrl-PLUS or Ctrl-Minus by Accident.
