I added my vote How about the request below to have Notes default to Read Only to prevent accidental changes

I think the OP is saying that the encrypted text icon is not protected. You can backspace and delete the icon and thereby whatever was encrypted, 1 line or a 1000 lines. Same thing on IOS. Voice of experience.

Yes, I had the same problem, so it would be great to add a protection against accidental deletion of the encrypted text icon.
