Web Client Beta Release Notes 3/11/2015

Hey everyone,

 

We added some new features into last night's release. If you run into any issues please let us know so we can fix them. Thanks again for your continued patience as we add add more features into the Beta. 

 

New Features

• Version History - Access note history if you are a Premium member 
• Stacks - Create, rename, add, and remove notebooks from stacks.
  • Creating a stack - In the notebook list, drag a notebook on top of a another notebook to create a stack. 
  • Add a notebook to a stack - In the notebook list, drag a notebook on top of an existing stack. 
  • Remove a notebook from a stack - In the notebook list, drag a notebook out side of the stack to remove it. 
  • Delete a stack - Stacks will be automatically removed if there are no notebooks in the stack.
     
  • Known Issues / Bugs with Stacks
    • When deleting a notebook in a stack it looks like the stack is also deleted - The stack is not deleted. This is not intended behavior. Refreshing or re-opening the notebook list again will reflect the correct state of the notebook list. This will be fixed in the next release. 
  • Will be supported but in a future release
    • Adding a stack to Shortcuts
    • Rearranging Shortcuts
    • Rearranging Reminders

Bug Fixes

• Work Chat - Support for IE 8/9

BUG - In Version History, titles don't handle special characters correctly.

 

Are we still reporting bugs on this release here in the comments? If not, tell me where.

 

To reproduce in the Web Beta:

1. Create a note with a special character in the title such as ' (single apostrophe) and save
2. Select the note, then Info button -> View History
3. The history should show at least one entry. Click on "Current Version" (or any othe entry) to display the note details. You will notice that the special character in the title displays using & (ampersand) notation. For example, ' (single quote, which is ASCII 39) displays as ' when it should display as the special character.

Look forward to a fix in the Web Beta.

 

Do note, this has been an ongoing problem in the production Web client, and in the Win and Android clients too!

 

Edit: For the non-Beta systems, I reported this bug 5/2/2014 as Ticket# 491841.

Thank you for reporting this John. This implementation of Version History in the Beta is the same as the web client so you will see the same bugs between the two. Thank you for reporting this. I will continue to flag these bugs with the team.

Just tested the new features for stacks and they look great. Thank you.

 

Waiting for new features to come. There is still a long way to go until I can switch from the productive Web client but you will get there!
