Priority support keeps signing me out, do they not support Plus accounts? Apparently I cannot use the following link, is there another? https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action I keep getting the message "You have logged out of Evernote". I have assumed they read the forums, in any case. I hope Austin G doesn't mind if I reference him on this issue, since the encryption bug is repeatable.
-
I have reported corruption of encrypted data before, but I didn't know the cause, now I do: When double clicking on encrypted text, if the mouse moves slightly, resulting in accidentally dragging the encrypted icon, the icon will become permanent and the encrypted data will be lost, decryption will no longer be accesible. This is repeatable, and I believe it is not version dependent since I have seen it before, though I have the latest version. This is a big problem for those of us who don't have note history (Plus & free accounts).

Add tag to shortcuts from Note
Don Dz replied to Don Dz's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Had to disable Autohotkey to get it to work, I see it works like clicking on the right side of a tag. I thought your comment meant that shift click was one of two ways to do what I was asking, I guess I misunderstood. -

Yep, nothing seems to happen. -

Many people swear by Ctrl-Q, I appreciate it is yet another way to do things, just not a way I perceive to save me time, at least not yet. It seems to behave somewhat like search on Android, though it works better on Android (it reminds me of the discussion of "relevant search results", it works pretty much like that in Android, not so much in Windows). -

I tried shift-clicking around with my tags, wasn't able to observe what it is supposed to do. -

Wow, where was that feature hiding, it works, thanks! I think that's one of more useful tricks I have seen in a long time, it also works dragging saved searches & notes from the note list. 👍 -

Searching the tag list, or searching the saved searches list, after adding another one, hmm. Having a right click menu option to add the tag in the current note to shortcuts as a tag search, makes sense to me, sorry if my description seems unclear, sure could use this additional feature. -
Could not locate this topic while searching, so here is my suggestion: Clicking on the arrow on the right side of a tag in a note shows you all the notes with that same tag, but if you want to add that tag to shortcuts, you have to locate it first in the tag list. It would be helpful to be able to do it from the note (or even from the notelist), maybe as one of the menu options when you right click on the tag .

Evernote in an E-ink device
Don Dz replied to Don Dz's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 8.13.3 and under)
If your needs are more modest, the Boox Nova Pro is cheaper and smaller, with similar configuration (no built in speakers though). And it has a front light. But if you prefer the size of the Note, the Note Pro has a front light and twice the storage, if those features matters to you. They matter to me, but I already have the original Note. -
Evernote in an E-ink device

If you can afford it, I would recommend one of the DASUNG e-ink monitors over the e-ink ereaders, because Evernote for desktop OS is superior in every way to the mobile versions, which have many shortcomings compared to the desktop versions. Another reason is that the DASUNG monitors have hardware contrast adjustments, which can be automated per program with their software. On the Android devices I have seen, if there is any adjustment at all, it is software based, and often doesn't work with some apps. -

Don Dz replied to Don Dz's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 8.13.3 and under)
The Boox Note is definitely worth it for its own sake (there are now several versions of the Note, some with a backlight! and some physically smaller as well), but there are issues with Evernote, as discussed on the topic link below. You could try to investigate whether one of the following recent e-ink Android tablets has the problem or not: the new DASUNG ”Not-eReader”, the Likebook Mars e-ink Android tablet, and the E-Pad; all seem to have the same Android 6 version though. I am quite disappointed with EN Android support's dismissive attitude regarding this issue. Quite a contrast with EN Windows support, which are very professional and helpful as a rule. -
How to see reminders?
Don Dz replied to rodolfoespinosa's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Well, aside from whether I related what took place in the most accurate way, I am guessing that since you did not address my comment about the reminder view specifically, it must not have been present, whatever I thought I saw in the note list at the time. -

I could be mistaken, but I am fairly certain I saw that view in the recent beta 2 on the side list (I believe it went away after they had to do some major surgery for the current beta 3, see the discussion), maybe they will bring it back eventually. Unless I was just seeing things . . . -
Emoji support on Desktop
Don Dz replied to dalelane's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
I understand. I said it seems buggy because I used the same Tahoma font in the Windows client when I got different results for the very same emoji. Tahoma was the previous default so I got used to it, I don't know if the current default is considered more stable. -

Emoji support on Desktop
Don Dz replied to dalelane's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Oops, sorry, you are correct about no color in titles and lists. However, your example appears to show no color in the note body for the green check mark (:heavy_check_mark:), that I do see in color. Also, I got it to display in title by itself (in blue, system maybe?), but as soon as I added something else, it became a box. Rather than not implemented, it seems buggy. -
Emoji support on Desktop
Don Dz replied to dalelane's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
They are in color in Win10 already, but not in Win7, I suspect this is not likely to change now that Microsoft is dropping Win7 support soon. -
Option to disable Evernote-emojis
Don Dz replied to marcsilva's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
If it is too annoying to do what I mentioned above manually, the following AutoHotkey script can do it automatically: #d:: Send D :{space}{left 2}{bs 1}{end} return Run it by pressing the Windows key followed the letter d (can change d on the first line to anything you wish). -
Dark Mode for Windows
Don Dz replied to Georgi Georgiev's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Seems a little unusual to go so long without either beta or regular updates, maybe they are finally going to release dark mode soon? We'll see. -
Option to disable Evernote-emojis
Don Dz replied to marcsilva's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Try the following: add a space inside your emoji, then a space after, then remove the space from inside the emoji. This effectively disables it. Alternately, put it inside a code block (Ctrl-Shift-L), same result. Not sure why you would want to, but there you go. -
Require security Pin when opening Evernote
Don Dz replied to zotje's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Search for either "bitlocker without tpm chip windows 10", or “Allow Bitlocker without compatible TPM chip”. It is my understanding the workarounds only works with Windows Pro or Enterprise, with Home you need TPM. Not an expert, just reading the sites. -

Don Dz replied to zotje's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
With Home it only works with devices with TPM chips, apparently the Surface is one of them. There are ways to find out, I confirmed mine doesn't have it: https://www.top-password.com/blog/find-out-if-your-windows-pc-has-a-tpm-chip/ -

Only available in Windows Pro and Enterprise, not Home, as I understand it.
