Version 10.17.6 I want to be able to search for multiple words in a text jpg image, and have the found words highlighted like it does for single words – I really thought this was solved, or has it just been ‘broken’ with v10? Example in the search box I put “West Park”, and Evernote finds several notes with the phrase, but none are highlighted. Also, when I do a ‘find within note’ on the found notes, none are found. A ‘find within note’ using a single word West or Park does confirm the phrase is in the note. What am I doing wrong? , Thanks Doc. I see I've had a few views of this question, but no answers - Is this a stupid question, or does no one have answer? Any reply is better than none.

Thanks, I tried dragging to a blank note as I had in the Legacy version - didn't work, and then tired dragging to a notebook - That worked thanks. Doc

In the Windows Legacy version if you copied a file to a blank note the name of the file was automatically used as the note Title – Where has this gone? Is it an option now, or have we simply lost it in version 10? Doc

Hi - Thanks for the suggestions - I problem does seem inconsistent, as New Note was working first thing morning, and started fail after adding a few notes. I had a couple of days ago completely uninstalled EN with Revo - I'll do it again and reinstall - I can't say I've had much success with EN support, with the last 'solution' was sorry EN 10 doesn't work for everyone please try 6.25 I do have a reasonable directly wired 30 meg connection - which I have little problems with. I've tried - File - New Note - Ctrl N - New Note from the Green drop down box All of these produce a turning green circle which lasts for maybe 10 seconds and end without creating a new note Doc

En version 10.15.16 Windows . Create new note not working, unless I close EN and restart. Any suggestions please

I will bullet your concerns below and put my responses below for easier reference: Are you saying that unless I’m connected to the internet, the old links will only work on the Legacy version? · Yes, that is correct. If you want, you can start doing the provided workaround on my previous email. With this, you can recreate the affected notes with internal links on Legacy so you would be able to click on it without being redirected to the web version. Below are the steps of another workaround that I managed to discover. You may want to try this instead if this will be easier for you (compared to the first workaround provided): 1. Open Evernote Legacy. 2. Select the note where you want to copy the internal link. 3. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + L (Note: Please make sure to use this shortcut instead and not the Copy internal link from the list of options) 4. Create a new note. 5. Right click on the editor and select Hyperlink. 6. Choose "Add" and paste the copied link via Ctrl + V. Database rebuild concern: Download speed isn't great. · I apologize if I cannot provide a workaround for this. It is not recommended to connect to a different network, since the down sync process is currently ongoing. To be clear - what I am complaining about is that all of the old internal links only link to the web notes and not the locally held notes. So when I'm using Evernote not connected to the internet the hot links will not work. OR am I just doing something wrong? Doc

Months on still not fixed - Technical support (27 May 2021) did not mention of fixing / adding this 'feature'. There only suggestion was redo them in version 10. They must be mad I have 19,000 notes! Now I really can't see me leaving the Legacy version.

I have the same problem and reported this mid Apri. I asked for an update from EN on the 6 May and received a reply saying the support team are working on the problem but had made no progress. It is really annoying when you know this product could be so good. Come on EN get this sorted

I'm having the same problem but only on both my Android Evernote. I have tried rebooting, uninstalling. I have the latest EN version and had the same issue on the previous version. I have been in touch with EN support, who suggested some very basic suggestions and then 3 days ago said they were escalating the support, but even an acknowledgement! I can't get EN 6.25 to work my Dell W10 laptop, EN 10 creates duplicate notes, and really messes up tables. What on earth is going on with this company?

As far as I know I don't have local notes. The strange think is I lost the HDD on the laptop and after installing W10 again and syncing EN to the laptop, which is when I had an extra 120 notes. Surely, they can only come from the cloud. Doc

After "chatting" with technical support for an hour on the similar problem, multiply word search, I have on Android and Windows - the most annoying think is they act like this is the first time this has happened, and no one else is experiencing the same problem 😡 - All software has problems (I was a software developer) but to pretend there isn't a problem is extremely annoying - just downloaded version 6.25.0.9084 still the same search results. Thank you - That worked great with MS Word, and I've tested that on a text note, which is what the genealogy program uses for notes attached to events. The only slight problem is the address in the text box is not clickable - but does work okay if I copy that address into my browser. That will really help link my source documents back to the events. Thanks again Doc. I've tried TinyURL - which helps with large web addresses in text note

Hi, I use my EN for my genealogy research. Is it possible to link to an EN note from within a Word / Text document? I use a genealogy program, Brother's Keeper, to keep track of events in my ancestor's lives and store the research data in EN - I want to enter a link back to the note where 'proof' of the event is stored. Example. A text document with a link to an EN note where the source of information came from. Brother's Keeper event - Charles Smith born 12 September 1849 Evernote - Charles Smith - containing a letter with Charles Smiths date of birth on it. Doc

Hi the topic seems to hang in September 2019 - was this solved? Because my hyperlinks have stopped working on the Windows version (6.23.2.8859) of EN. The same links are working on Android. Doc

Hi Thanks for you comments - I'm unsure how to share these notes, but as the notes are public records I have attached one which as it is an image of a computer printed document (which I would guess was professionally scanned, as it came from the British National Archives) I was really surprised that it wasn't indexed. In fact I've had a response from EN support and he can't get the image to index either - Onenote has no problem with the Jpeg. Another worrisome problem is that, as support confirmed, there is no way of knowing how many of my notes have not been indexed. Support suggested looking through my notes, but as there are some 12,000, not very practical. Doc.

Hi, I uploaded quite a few notes back on 23rd June 2019, and now I'm going through those notes, checking and tagging, and find that many have still not been indexed - 18th July 2019. My understanding is that unless the notes are indexed, any search against these notes will fail. I have tried 3 times to sort this out with EN support - twice they have suggested Recreate Full Text Search Index, which I've done, but this didn't solve the problem. Today's session with EN support I could not get them to understand indexing - Have I got the wrong idea about indexing? Many of the notes are hand written, many are typed, but as EN should do hand written notes - I will take anything it can find! EN asked me to upload a note that wasn't indexed. These are the responses I got - (I uploaded the same note to Onenote it was instantly searchable - although only the pre printed text on this sample.) a - The image might need to be upscaled to find the text. b - The image indexed when separating the image into each page c - It looks like when the entire image is added into the note, the image is shrieked down to fit with the image. This would explain why the app is having issues indexing them. Can anyone explain these? Thanks Doc

Brothers Keeper doesn't change the file format. When I export my data up to something like Ancestry or FMP, I don't include photos or documents. I tried FamilyTreeMaker many years ago, and decided to stay with BK. Doc
