No. As you can see in my screenshot my "share" window is just blank. I don't even my own account there. But hey, I found it ! It looks like I shared a whole notebook. So the permissions show up correctly when I click on the gray "people" icon in the notebook (list of notes), but not at all on the green "people" icon in the note (even though the permissions are inherited obviously). How stupid is that? I guess it's just another bug in the v10 client 😡

My guess is, no-one is excited or eager to work in support for a company with such ***** software. Every user (except for some hardcore fans) is angry about pricing, bugs or discontinued functionality. Maybe they should offer a way to bribe the support guys. Perhaps then our tickets will be worked on?

Ah, I figured it out myself: If I copy (and paste back in) any annotation element that I previous deliberately moved out of the actual image (and thus extends the canvas), then the image shrinks back to its original size (for no reason) and ALL elements outside the original canvas size gets deleted (all, incl. the element I intended to copy). I guess that's just yet another bug with EV client v10...

Hello there, In v6 any kind of annotations (text, arrows, forms) could be Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V'ed. In EN client v10-latest/Windows Ctrl-V or Ctrl-Shift-V switches to the next image within the same note (or so it seems). I can no longer simply duplicate annotations within one image. Or am I missing something ((except the default excuse "don't expect the new client to work like the old one" ? )) Edit: This seems to work on other images, but not on certain images of mine. That's even more confusing.

search feature in desktop version unpleasant
Farbauti replied to kvoliver's topic in Evernote General Discussions
It's also odd and confusing that there is no "search" button to click. A typical use case of mine when I search in any tool except EN client v10-latest/Win: Click in the search box (mouse in right hand) Ctrl+v (left hand) Click the search button (mouse in right hand) In EN client v10-latest/Win: Click in the search box (mouse in right hand) Ctrl+v (left hand) Let go of the mouse (right hand) Hit enter (right hand) Grab mouse again (right hand) Another inconvenience in EN v10/Win client -
search feature in desktop version unpleasant
Farbauti replied to kvoliver's topic in Evernote General Discussions
The filters are fine, I agree. But the rest of the search is not. - In v6 a search inside a note showed all hits as yellow marks in the scrollbar - very convenient, but gone in v10 - If you want to search just within one notebook, you select the notebook and then search. Ok. But if you just clear the search field, then the selection of note book goes away too - very inconvenient in v10 Ymmv -
Whenever I want to replace a string in a code-block, EN client v10-latest/Win puts the replacement into a new line E.g. select * from ABC where hash='z2qvr2uc6ru0p8lhthuh009ky9y'; When I select the data and replace it by something different I end up: select * from ABC where hash=' a71g4x6o0ted4c3xh3q19g37uyy '; So each time I paste something in code-blocks, I need to remove both line breaks manually. That really sucks. Please tell me there is a setting or shortcut to avoid that faulty behavior.

It opens for me every f... day "in the middle of the screen at a smaller size". Funny thing is, if I exit the client and start it again on the same day, then the client opens at the last postition and size. When I shutdown Windows and boot it up the next day, EN client open again mid-screen/nedium size

Windows. How to stop "Auto update" of the app version
Farbauti replied to landymangk's topic in Evernote General Discussions
The funny thing about "auto update" is that it generates its own flaws. In v6 I never had any issues with EN client updates. Since v10 I get such lovely error messages like "Oops, something went wrong. Please reload." - but any number of "reloading" did not help. What helps: Shutting down EN client (not just closing it, but manually quitting it), then start the client again, then accept some weird changes in Windows' firewall settings, and only then you are good. -
Once upon a time in a far away land lived a young man called Tom. Tom was reasonable and all he needed was a car that met his requirements. Tom was humble but determined. So the requirements weren't too fancy. A decent speed, enough horsepower to get around and some space to move things. Tom visited many car companies, compared features and prices and finally chose his perfect car. But this car was not for sale, only for rent. Tom accepted this and was happy for a long time. As the years past, the rent went up. But that was still ok for Tom. Because the car company offered regular updates for his car. In the end, Tom was driving a V6 car with everything he ever wanted and needed. But then, one rainy night in March '23 the same car company stole his car and replaced it with a cheaper version. Ok, this was a brand new V10 car equipped with three extra tires "for more grip", as they proclaimed. The brand new V10 car also had AI built in, so Tom could now roll down the windows by voice command. But surprisingly, the rear windows wouldn't open at all any more. The top speed was only 50% of Tom's old V6 car and it now runs on electricity while Tom has no charging station. The brand new V10 car features a new cockpit layout, but whenever Tom starts the car, a standard radio station is played at a standard volume - and none of them were to Tom's taste. Also, the engine now springs to live automatically as soon as Tom approaches the car. Even if he does not intent to drive away. Oh and of course the car company raised the rent again for this innovated car...

The code block in v10 makes no sense anymore
Farbauti replied to Farbauti's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Well, it's a totally different issue with code blocks. Saying it's a duplicate is like saying each EN complaint is a duplicate to any previous complaint, isn't it? Also I don't consider my case as an edge case. It is still literally called a "code block", not a "text that is randomly formatted differently" area. On major property of "code" is that is must be displayed as-it-is ... not encoded, nor decrypted, nor formatted, nor transformed etc. And sources like xml, jsp or html use a lot of "<", ">" -
How can I get rid of this /-fuctionality?
Farbauti replied to Farbauti's topic in Evernote General Discussions
For a) that's why I used Legacy v6 till the last day. Side note: I gave v10 a try as soon as it was released. I opened so many tickets, asking to bring back functionality (but all to no avail). For b) feature XYZ needs to be added (again) because I heavily used it in the past, and I'm not ok with working around now. -
How can I get rid of this /-fuctionality?
Farbauti replied to Farbauti's topic in Evernote General Discussions
For one thing, I don't want to derail this discussion by listing other issues here. If you want the list of missed features, there is a list of at least 30 support tickets I opened since I started testing v10 (and not a single ticket was resolved so far). Or just browse the last 1000 posts in forum -
How to prevent EN to assume each file name is an URL?
Farbauti replied to Farbauti's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Well, almost each character can be part of an URL, e.g. as a value of a GET parameter. How can EN know the punctuation you type no longer belongs to the URL? But if you hit space or enter after punctuation, EN recognized the URL without the trailing punctuation. At least in my EN client/Windows10.
