  1. So frustrating. Tried to install from both of the links above and for both got an error message that "the package appears to be corrupt". .
  2. It happens with offline notes that have been downloaded to the phone. Takes a minute or longer for the text in the body to load to view it. Has to be something within the app itself on the phone. .
  3. I'm having the same issues. Oddly, all my notes are set for using when I'm offline and those notes are sometimes taking about a minutes to open. This started about 3 to 4 weeks ago, right before a business trip of course when zippy performance is required when digging up info when with clients. Phone is a ZTE Axon 7 running Android 7.1.1 and Evenote Premium ver 8.1.0. The note will partially load as shown in this image but none of the text shows, just some of the Evernote buttons which can be used such as moving the note to another notebook. However it will not allow me to use the back arrow at upper left. Can I go back to 8.8.1 when I'm on 8.1.0 ?? I've thought about purging the cache and reloading all the offline notes . ..
  4. About 4000 notes here with several hundred inclusive of PDF's or images, maybe 15% of all notes. On a Windows 7 laptop - seldom any performance issues, most are due other processes on the PC. On a Windows 10 desktop - as above. On my two year old Android phone with its' Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM - the only time I see a pause, and it is a pause of up to 5 seconds sometimes though not always that long but always a pause, is with one note that has a PNG image in it at the top of the note and when I add a comment below the image and tap on the "edit" button I get the pause. The text formatting is a PITA at times but I've learned how to deal with it on the desktop where most of my large data inputs are made. Works really well for me. Especially when I go offline into remote areas and I can still access ALL my technical docs.
  5. I wouldn't consider leaving Evernote unless the replacement offers sync across mobile devices and desktops as good as EN as well as being available on mobile devices for information look-up when offline (i.e. being 100's of km from the nearest cell tower, a mile underground, or deep in the bowels of a building). Does anything else offer that? I've looked at OneNote, it did not offer it when I iniitially chose EN, and recent attempts to confirm this did not leave me sure that it does. .
  6. I was quite put off by Evernote opening a new tab in a desktop browser, on several desktops, to advertise Spaces. The email sent to me was OK. Makes me wonder what else they are into. I've already deleted the Facebook and FB Messenger apps off all my mobile devices (a long time ago). I hope I don't have to walk away from Evernote. Spaces is out yet the latest revision of Evernote for Windows desktop is glitchy where it was not before, appears to have lost some search functionality, and in the Android app they still have not added a one touch icon on the editing bar to insert a date and time stamp into notes you are creating or editing. Please, I know you have to have big picture for where the company is going to in order to survive but lets get the small stuff right and keep it right.
  7. I have also been having this problem. One specific note that is 57.7KB will not allow me to edit it on my phone. It freezes and eventually an error message "Evernote isn't responding" appears with the option to Close app, Wait, or Send feedback. This is happening in the field using 4G data that is reasonably fast and definitely in an area of good reception. FWIW.... I recall editing notes underground where there was zero cell or WiFi and not seeing this issue. I was playing around with the note while writing this post forcing it into error mode and tried "Wait". After waiting about 20 seconds the keyboard popped up and then in about another 5 seconds I was able to edit the note. This was while on WiFi. Wait did not do this yesterday. I've not seen this type of behavior from Evernote before. I am a Premium subscriber.
  8. I noted a couple of months back that there is now an option in Evernote for Android to insert a horizontal line into your note. You can find it on the formatting bar (I'm not sure what to call it) under the note. There is an "arrow" on the right that moves the bar right and left to expose the various options. Now if they could only add an "Insert Date Time stamp" to that same formatting bar.
  9. I did that yesterday Dave and then came back to rationalize why I want it. I often copy and paste my Evernote notes into the clunky "super system" software I'm forced to use at my company (its' GUI is so 1980's it makes me weep). On occasion I have to go back and present a summation of the client's application to trouble shoot an issue. Time stamps are essential. Evernote is a tool to save time and improve accuracy.
  10. I use Evernote to make notes after client interactions - I have one note for each client containing their contact information and particulars and then have multiple comments from various interactions all in that one note so having a date-time stamp for each comment is essential for me. Typically I insert a horizontal line, insert date-time stamp, make comments, insert horizontal line at bottom of comments. Just like the old recipe card system I used back in the late 80's. I have tried several relational data base type products over the last 20 years and this method, with the wonderful every word indexed look-up, is still the most effective means for me to record technical notes and find them again. Evernote on Android has almost freed me from having to use my desktop - a menu option to insert a date-time stamp and a horizontal line would eliminate having to go back on the desktop and do some "clean up" work later. i.e. more family time at the end of the day.
