  1. FYI for anyone else struggling with Legacy log in problems. Despite being a long-term paying user legitimately running Legacy until Mar. 23rd, I have received zero usable help from support for multiple requests. I thought I'd try logging into v10 & see what it said & was surprised to see that it forced me to change my password. Once I did that however, I was able to log into both versions on both my PCs.
  2. Yes, they clearly fixed it then un-fixed it again today. Sure seems like somebody at BS is flipping switches getting ready for Mar 23rd. Either that or just trying to piss us off!!
  3. It won't accept my password, just like previously, except now it's a slightly different message popup. Sure seems like somebody at BS is flipping switches getting ready for Mar 23rd. Either that or just trying to piss us off!!
  4. Looks like BS are now just messing around with access to my data via Legacy! Both my PCs had this popup, won't accept my password & won't sync again today. What is going on?

  6. FYI: Legacy is now syncing again for me also, so they must have changed something.

  8. Legacy stopped syncing for me 3 days ago. It would sync from 2nd PC, but not main PC. Tried everything, close, restart PC, reinstall, etc... nothing. Wrote to support who sent boilerplate reply to reinstall....nothing. Advice in forum that Legacy can run alongside V10 no longer valid (as stated earlier, they've even removed that thread). It would appear they're doing everything in their power to stop me from using legacy even before the March 23 cutoff date! Have installed V10 which has no problem syncing, but still has glaring omissions/problems.
  9. Here's another forum thread that's on fire about this.
  10. Let's summarize what's happened to our trustworthy, tell-all-your-friends, format-your-life-around, good-old Evernote, shall we: Dramatically increased price Significantly decreased customer service Inconsistent, unreliable, missing functionality "only 1% still using Legacy".... ABSOLUTE BS. You don't have to be a Pink Elephant to see how many people are on here complaining about the demise of it. People are sick of being lied to with a statement like that. It's like the "install this update, it's so much better" BS that we've all been tricked into before and having our lives disrupted only to find out that we're actually being used as beta-testers of incomplete software. Security Issues: Same as the 1% comment. I see so many posts about that, it must be a huge problem! This company deserves exactly what it's going to get when the everyone who can't/won't make the transition to v10 is finally forced to leave. Here's another post that's on fire about this (and I'm sure there's plenty of others).
  11. They have removed the forum titled 'How to Install an Older Version of Evernote'.
  12. I concur with @fuchsfr, ever since they forced me to use the new Android app things got much worse (slower, unclickable attachments, etc...) when using EN on the phone & it even changed formatting in my notes in Legacy.
  13. I appreciate your words @idoc, they give me some hope. I'm self-employed trying to keep my head above water & am currently working non-stop, so the last thing I need right now is to be forced to learn to use a new app, especially one that I have invested so much time into & rely on very heavily. I got this notice today on my desktop legacy version & don't even understand what "we're removing this version" even entails. I'd love to have a cushy job that allowed me time to research, test & implement new software all day, but that's not what pays my bills. This is especially galling because of the price increases & known lack of features in the new 'forced' version that this company is shoving down our throats! Call it bemoaning if you like, but I'm a paying customer who helped get EN where it is today!
  14. I think what the new EN owners & some of their fanboys on here are missing by this extremely heated thread is that there are PLENTY OF USERS WHO WOULD PREFER TO JUST KEEP USING LEGACY VERSION BECAUSE IT WORKED. Any disgruntled/past EN programmers would become instantly famous if they were to offer an app like that.
  15. Absolutely!!!!!! I'll definitely be looking into Obsidian. Thanks @fuchsfr
  16. 110% agree with @AlbertR that @Net-config couldn't have said it better. EN has lost my trust & I will no longer recommend it to anyone the way I used to. I have a massive amount of time invested in my notes & between the FORCED upgrade of the Android app to a significantly worse version than it was before, to the complete inability of many support staff to explain lost/changed note formatting, I'm reluctant to believe anything EN (directly) says or does, let alone a user like @PinkElephant (who the hell are you anyway & why do you think you can speak on behalf of the company?)
  17. When v10 was first 'shoved onto us' I was tricked by EN into believing this was just another simple upgrade, but I soon found out that it was complete garbage & had to revert back to Legacy. Since then I have tried 2 other times to have support help me 'upgrade' to v10, but they not only failed to keep scheduled appointments with me but also wasted a lot of my time by having me thoroughly define the reasons why I continued to use Legacy, only to eventually ghost me. I've been a long-term paying user & advocate of EN & they way they handled this upgrade has been pathetic!!!!! I'm now very skeptical of allowing them to waste any more of my time again & to even try v10 after what's happened. I can see by this thread there's still issues with it that only those who drink the green koolaid think are acceptable. Get over yourself! EN has a responsibility to all past paying users of Legacy to not break the apps functions or reformat or destroy note contents during ANY upgrade!
  18. Sounds like you've been drinking too much green koolaid gazumped, let's not sugar-coat this: It was a significant problem that rendered EN on Android useless for over a month until each person who experienced it had time to research & hopefully find the 'workarounds' suggested here, then implement them. Temporarily rolling back a version may have it's drawbacks, but it allows users to remain users, and they do it for the Windows version.
  19. I used the free APK Installer app on my phone to backup the new version, then moved the APK file to my PC.
  20. I received & installed the official update today also. I then backed up the APK & saved it to my PC in my personal 'safe' repository of APKs to fall back on in case this ever happens again. Again, why isn't this something they could have offered us? Shame on me for ever trusting EN after how many times they've let me down since releasing v10.
  21. For giggles I decided to check this APK site (https://evernote.en.uptodown.com/android/download) & it had 10.52.1, which I've already downloaded & saved to my PC & installed on my phone & it's working.
  22. Maybe it's just a matter of people not understanding APKs (they're basically a full version of the app, like an EXE file is for an app on your PC). Until a few years ago I didn't really understand them either, but after upgrading my phone & realizing that some of my favourite apps were no longer available on the Play store I learnt that by simply using an app called 'APK Installer' I could manage them myself. So now when I get an app I like I 'backup' the APK using APK Installer & then save it on my PC in case I ever need it again. It's been very handy on several occasions. Never thought I'd have to do it with a paid corporate app like Evernote though, but I guess I'll have to start. The downside of APKs is that unless you're getting it from a trustworthy source, there's a chance it could be unsafe. That's why I don't understand why EN doesn't offer them for users experiencing problems (like us with this significant, prolonged issue) who need to step back a version until the fix is released in a newer version. They do it for the Windows app, why not for Android? And are you really worried about internet traffic or was that a joke? Using this approach, if the 1st person who received the update saved & shared the APK with the rest of us we'd all be getting on with our happy little lives again instead of waiting for the Play store & responding to this thread! BTW: I also do this with Windows apps, just in case they mess something up in an update (which of course none of us have ever experienced, right?).
  23. Still not available here in Canada. I don't understand your comment about "non-Android device"? We're all here b/c we have android devices. Why is nobody talking about there being an EN official solution to downgrade until the problem is resolved???? A safe repository of past versions as APK files. Is there something I'm missing about such an obvious solution to where there currently is..... NONE!
  24. If anyone who's got it could upload the APK to apkmirror we could all have it too!!!!!
