Ouch, without getting too “techie”, those seem to be odd choices with what they want you to do. I did some more digging and it looks like you can turn off advanced security, which “should” fix the blocking issue.
Below is an article on the xfinity site which tells you how to disable the advanced security. I figure it’s worth a shot before dropping extra money. I also read that support can disable it for you.
For what the advanced security does, I personally don’t find it that exciting and just adds extra cost to your bill. Now that’s my opinion, take it as you may.
