  1. Ouch, without getting too “techie”, those seem to be odd choices with what they want you to do. I did some more digging and it looks like you can turn off advanced security, which “should” fix the blocking issue. Below is an article on the xfinity site which tells you how to disable the advanced security. I figure it’s worth a shot before dropping extra money. I also read that support can disable it for you. For what the advanced security does, I personally don’t find it that exciting and just adds extra cost to your bill. Now that’s my opinion, take it as you may. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-xfinity-xfi-advanced-security I hope this helps! I know it’s frustrating but I feel getting around this now will help overall in the future.
  2. With the bridge option you will need to purchase a router and reconfigure your current ISP modem. You may also have to configure WiFi on the new device. It may be worth it to check your circle of friends and see if someone knows a tech that would be willing to help.
  3. Oh I’m very aware how to do it, what bridge mode is, and networking in general. I also agree that most off the shelf routers are better than the isp stuff. Most techs like to think it’s simple and forget the regular person is not always comfortable with technology. What’s easy for you is not always the same for others.
  4. While I totally agree, not everyone has an IT nerd on speed dial 😉
  5. I did a bit more digging, and they are packet filtering not just DNS. This is why a VPN is working where a DNS change is not. That sucks, you are really kneecapped by the ISP. Wonder if you can get rid of the "Advanced" security. That "may" fix the issue. Online security with xFi — FAQs - Xfinity Support
  6. In another thread someone who has Comcast internet is having issues getting to EN. Once they used a VPN or changed the DNS on their device, they worked. May be something to try. If not, it's still a good test to see if the network or internet connection you are using is the problem.
  7. Well it shows you are not the only one on Comcast having the issue! Maybe just change the DNS on your computer temporarily so you can keep the network speed and work on EN. At least you have a definitive answer, you don't always get that in IT. 😉
  8. @Michael Vanyukov Also, go to the following link and report the site incorrectly blocked Report a website blocked by Xfinity xFi Advanced Security - Xfinity Support Use "evernote.com" and that "may" help.
  9. Glad that worked! Comcast DNS sucks 🙄, @mackid1993 has the right of it. Once you get better DNS servers, you should be good to go!
  10. It could be some sort of geo-fencing. I'd try a VPN (proton has a free one) and see if that works. That should take your network out of the equation.
  11. Glad I am not the only one with that pain point in iOS. Saved me a post about it. Already opened a ticket with support so it's logged.
  12. I get it, but you would be considered a power user. I think the majority of the users, who are not as technical, would like it. It benefits the more casual user, which is the larger portion of the user base.
  13. I finally got the / in the windows client and tbh, it really doesn't bug me I think over time you will just ignore it, change is hard but I'm willing to adapt a bit.
  14. Search for tables fails on iOS and Web for me. I've not tried Windows or Mac client yet. I also get inconsistent results with checkboxes and lists. I'll open a ticket to get another "tally" added to the issue. Glad it's not just me
  15. I wonder if they are envisioning an "all in one" type of app, along the lines of Fusebase/Nimbus, Craft Docs, etc?
