Please return the ability to turn on note counts and make them visible for notebooks in the left side bar. This is a key piece of interface information for how I (and everyone who I coach to use Evernote for GTD) use Evernote.

To clarify, "delete the database" refers to the new 10.0 installation, correct? Delete that to avoid incompatibility issues, then run the legacy 7.14 instal? (and, great warning about local notebooks).

Can you please clarify: If users instal the new Mac or Windows client, can they either run them parallel, or roll back to version 7.14 if they want? If so, how would they do this? Thank you.

Wow...that did the trick @stocky2605! Thank you! The HTML container links open with a touch of the screen if edit protection is turned on in the settings. So, now that I understand that, my question is – is this the intended behavior of HTML content blocks, or a bug? Seems to me that with edit protection turned off, the links should still work vs trigger editing of the note. But, maybe that is not possible?

@Jaya Shekarraju I clipped the same page 4 times. Here's my report: The warning went away on attempt #4 and does not return on future shares even if I close safari and Evernote and relaunch them later (yay...thank you!) I see a new sync notification when I open Evernote on iOS letting me know that the clip is syncing (helpful). However, if my phone goes into sleep mode, the sync process halts until such time I have Evernote open and active again (undesirable). Still no meta-data (note title) populating on share No tag option on share with this update (as shown in the screenshots in the app store – I presume this means this feature is imminent). Assessment: Good steps forward. Look forward to more to come. Let me know if there is further user experience info I can provide.

Just downloaded 10.0.2. Unfortunately they still do not work for me Clicking on a link in HTML content wrappers still launches edit mode.

I did a search for these feature requests in this forum before posting, but if I missed them already being logged, feel free to merge this, or link to them so I can upvote them (then delete this). I'm also happy to break these up into different posts if that is helpful. I'm hearing from my community that these features are being missed in the public beta: Want to see note counts displayed next to notebooks on left sidebar Want the ability to record audio notes Want the ability to select multiple notes at once (and therefore not able to take further action on multiple notes such as mass move, or TOC feature) Also, although the alphabetical sort order on stacks/notebooks is correct in the left sidebar, the alphabetical sort is not matching in the notebook list view where the notebook list sort is not alphabetical, even though Title sort is what is selected:

You taught me something @PinkElephant....thank you! This is more definitely more efficient than what I was doing. Great tip. Still hoping for a key command in desktop version so that I can use the keyboard to do this, and also add multiple checkboxes on the same row (or in a table cell).

In general, I very much like this expanded functionality. I'm one who uses checkboxes quite often (in a manner similar to what you show in the screenshot). And, I think people will grow to enjoy the opportunities both checkboxes and checklists provide over time. One piece of feedback is that it is not elegant to insert multiple checkboxes as once on iOS. I am holding out great hope that on the desktop release, a key command to insert checkboxes will exist in addition to a key commend for a checklist (this is actually really important to me). This will make me happy. Not sure what can be done on iOS to make the process of inserting multiple checkboxes faster/less steps, but if there is one, I vote for this feature improvement.

Totally agree with this. And am seeing lots of frustration around the lack of pre-population of the webpage meta data in the clipped note outside of this official forum (Reddit, etc.). Hope this returns quickly.

Additional details: Although I was successful in deleting the blank note from the Mac client, and the deletion of that note did NOT carry over to the new iOS client, nor to the web client. And, I'm unable to delete the blank note from the web client, nor the iOS client. But, the blank note is not reappearing in my desktop client. The delete behavior here on the web is the same as in the video provided above. It looks like it deletes (temporarily goes away), and then reappears a few seconds later.

I created a note from my phone (iPhone X). First issue is that the data I input, didn't hold. I went to add to the note and the notes I had jotted down weren't visible. I did however, have a new blank note. I recreated the note, taking more care to ensure I hit the green checkbox, and gave the note a title. My 2nd attempt at creating a note succeeded. I then went back and tried to delete the blank note on my mobile device. I was unable to. It would just reappear (see .mov attached). When I was back at my desktop, I could see the blank note, but also had a message that the note was "unavailable" – and, when I took this screenshot, I was definitely online. I was able to successfully delete this note from desktop: RPReplay_Final1600623545.mov

Ah! That's helpful in narrowing down the issue. If the URL is not in a "HTML Content" container, it works as expected (as in your example). But, if the URL is in an HTML Content box, then tapping it launches edit mode. And, when I forward in emails, or clip (share) from the web, Evernote is often putting it in HTML content blocks (probably based on the source content). So, that helps to narrow down the issue. Thx.

@DTLow Nope. My experience is that when I'm in view mode, tapping the link moves me into edit mode, which isn't what I want. I want the link to launch safari. Can you tell me more about what you mean that an "internal browser window is opened, with the option to switch to Safari"? Are you saying that when you touch the link on the screen, you're getting an internal pop-up that let's you navigate to Safari? If so, I'm not seeing that so wonder what's different. I'm on iOS 14 on an iPhone X.

I forwarded an email into Evernote that has a hyperlink out to the web in it that I want to access. I can’t figure out how to access it. When I click on the link, Evernote acts like I’m trying to edit the note (vs launch the link in a safari browser window). I recorded what it’s doing (attached). In the video, I’m tapping/touching the hyperlink behind the word “article” which is what is triggering the behavior. Don’t know if it is user error or a bug. Can you please advise? IMG_8368.MOV

It's an extra click every single time I share (clip) something to Evernote now because I have to close this dialogue notification box. I wish it didn't exist. I'm finding myself getting progressively more annoyed, the more times I see it. I'm always looking for taps and clicks to be as minimal as possible, and the new process adds an extra tap to the capture process from my phone. And, capture and search/retrieval are the primary use cases for the phone app in my use case. Don't like extra steps getting added to those core workflows!

@DTLow Thanks for that. I just realized that I had the vocabulary in my initial question reversed (which really complicates things for others reading this after that fact...apologies). There is a filter that can be applied to search for Checkboxes (great!). Now I want to know if I can search for checklists. As you correctly point out, the todo: search parameter will pull checkboxes. Do you know if there is a way to use a search parameter for finding lists (which the new checklist is a version of?). I don't see an option in the advanced search parameter list. This leads into a related question if one can search for numbered or bulleted lists as well?

Is it possible to search for notes that use the checkbox? I see that I can search for notes with checklists, but I want to know if I can search for notes that have checkboxes in them. Thanks.

I'm experiencing it too. It happened after seeing the "Note conflict. A copy of this note was made" notice appeared at the top of my iOS app. I now have 9 copies of the note 😳

I'd like to know how the "Join Date" that is now displayed on mobile (nice touch!) is determined. It appears that it is tied to the first note that is appearing in your account that falls within the range of Evernote's existence (I seem to have some notes that were created in 1970 and 2002??). Anyhow, if you remove those outlier notes, the first note that is appearing in my account is from July 2011, so that seems logical that is where the date stamp derived from. And, although not a critical issue, the date is incorrect (my join date was in Oct 2009). I assume this is because my first Evernote note over was migrated over to Evernote Business when I went to that tier of service, so my true start date isn't reflected on the Premium side of my account. I thought I could correct/update the join date by moving my "Welcome to Evernote" note (my first note, which was living over in my Business account) back over to the personal side of my account and syncing. I've done that, but my join date hasn't updated. So, maybe the join date isn't calculated from the date of your first note? Or maybe it finds it once, and doesn't update it again? Curious how it works, and also if it can be updated?

The sort order of notebooks in the "Download selected notebooks" settings appears to be in reverse alphabetical order, with no option to change it. This is challenging and unintuitive (seems it should be an alphabetical sort). I use naming conventions to put my most frequently used notebooks at the top of my notebook list (and within stacks). These are the most likely notebooks I'd want downloaded to my phone. Would love to see the sort order updated. Or, if I'm missing how to change the sort in this layout (it doesn't seem tied to displayed sort order in the notebooks and notes lists), please advise where I can change the display order. Thanks!

Shane – I'm still getting the issue as of May 7, 2020, 8:27:13 AM Central Daylight Time. And, resending the email didn't work (just resent it at 9:58 am CDT). Got an error email back from EN.

Ah yes @Ian Small...I see it now. Thank you. I advise this strategy of shortcutting key saved searches often so happy to see it is still an option.
