  1. I still occasionally have this issue. I think the new metadata sync project will hopefully be the answer since a task being completed or not is really just a 1 or 0 stored in the tasks metadata and that doesn't seem to sync properly.
  2. I also want to add that I had an issue getting sales tax refunded for my tax exempt work account. After waiting a month for a reply they told me I wasn't charged sales tax. I provided the invoice and said I was and then they refunded me my sales tax and applied my tax exempt status. Support is likely stressed and inexperienced. Hopefully as they get used to their new jobs this will get better with time.
  3. Sorting by anything in stacks is broken, not just title. I expect a lot of these issues are going to take some time to fix unfortunately they seem to be working on a lot of different things right now and most of them seem to be on Desktop and most involve adding functionality that people have been asking for, particularly for a long time such as Syntax Highlighting in code blocks that was announced today. Hopefully once they finish up some of these projects they are working on they'll take the time to work on squashing old bugs. Some of these issues may also be resolved once they roll out the new metadata sync as you are sorting by metadata and that is currently a major project.
  4. Just attach a copy of your invoice, explain it was an annual plan. The support team is new and this is likely just a frustrating error. Tell them you want your money back per their refund policy. If you still have an issue I suggest you contact your bank, provide them with Evernote's refund policy as well as a copy of your ticket. I guarantee you will get your money back that way if it comes to it.
  5. Tasks and calendar are great, if you aren't using those features there are cheaper solutions that are likely a better fit. Joplin for example has mail in notes and OCR in search but limited tasks and no calendar is very cheap for their cloud service.
  6. It was also slow and a poor user experience for most users. You can still access the widget screen if you want to, they didn't remove it. You don't like it, don't argue with me on here, I'm another user, not an Evernote employee. Email feedback@evernote.com, be polite and your feedback may be considered. Act like this and I'm sure they will hit the delete button.
  7. Just announced today on YouTube/X, code blocks are being rewritten and syntax highlighting is being added.
  8. In all fairness it was completely broken, which tells me if they accidentally broke it and fixed it a few days later they are working on it and hopefully fixing some of your issues.
  9. I don't understand the resistance in this community of users to any change at all. I feel like the devs can't win no matter what they do someone will be pissed off. I'm just happy the app is faster.
  10. That's not how it's designed. This went through many iterations and they took in a lot of user feedback. You can learn more about the thought process here: They can't possibly please every single user.
  11. I mean if you need syntax highlighting attach your source file to a note and open it in your IDE right from Evernote. Syntax highlighting would be nice but this isn't data loss, it's data conversion that stripped some metadata to work in the new program. Data loss would imply the code snippet is missing entirely. If syntax highlighting is important use a tool dedicated to writing and storing code, not Evernote.
  12. To be fair to Evernote, they do eventually respond Google and Microsoft are multi-TRILLION dollar companies and they both have absolutely horrific support that while you can call them are beyond useless, I've actually found Evernote support as slow as they are to be way more coherent than anything from big tech. Out of all of the small tech companies I have subscriptions with, Fastmail has the best support. Now if they could respond to tickets quicker I'd be happy, although I work in IT and I know what a helpdesk is like. I used canned responses most of the time I respond to tickets, so I understand and don't blame them for that. For a bug report all they can do is pass on to the developers and acknowledge it, for an actual issues with my account I've gotten real typed responses from people.
  13. I have to say you can still get to your widgets but the update is so much nicer, everything loads right away, tasks sync immediately now. It's a massive improvement.
  14. That's one of the experimental layouts. When you get the 10.86 update that is rolling out or can be manually downloaded here if you're impatient you'll have the official new layout.
  15. No longer experimental. It's officially released in 10.86. They added scratch pad to the new home screen, added shortcuts to the bottom bar (replaced with notebooks, notebooks are accessed from the notes screen) and widgets are still in the side menu from the experimental versions. You can see an explanation on their YouTube channel.
  16. They are referring to 2024, it's been 3 months. We're in April. We have 3 months behind us, nearly 4.
  17. This will make that one guy with his notes trapped in Apple Notes very happy! It looks like it's going to support docx, HTML, txt, and md plus OneNote, Notion, and Google Docs.
  18. Maybe some good news here on X. Tagging @janndk to maybe give him some hope that they have a Reliability & Performance team. Time will tell if they live up to their name or if it's just one guy in a basement with a can of Red Bull and some Doritos.
  19. I've gotten a few likes and responses from both the Evernote account and Federico.
  20. My problem is when they become unhinged and drift into actual harassment of other users which has been happening more and more... over a note app. Moreover a note app that has been dead since 2020. We went through a global pandemic and this app was dead that entire time and people are flipping out. They should be grateful they were able to use it for 4 years postmortem.
