You should do whatever you're comfortable with. Personally I use a generic @Inbox notebook to pre screen my imports before moving to my main notebook. There are search implications if you use a separate notebook. Link to post

Depending if you want your clippings to be a part of your typical searches or not could dictate how to do it. If you don't, you can put them in their own notebook or -tag:clippings if you put them in your main notebook. If you have other notebooks, stacks can come into play. Otherwise, nothing wrong with putting them in your main notebook. Link to post
