RightPaddock 34 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Is there any way to lock a note - i.e. make it read only ? RP
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted January 12, 2015 Level 5* Posted January 12, 2015 No, not in general via the Evernote interface. But a forum search on "read only note" turned up the following: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/26224-request-read-only-notes/
RightPaddock 34 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 @jefito - thanks, I thought it used to be there, it seems it was, but it looks like they deprecated it to nada <sigh> RP
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted January 12, 2015 Level 5* Posted January 12, 2015 A long long time ago, at least 5 years, I think.
Level 5* gazumped 12,222 Posted January 12, 2015 Level 5* Posted January 12, 2015 You can always share a note with 'view only' privileges... ?
Level 5* CalS 5,311 Posted January 12, 2015 Level 5* Posted January 12, 2015 Print it to PDF, kind of read only. Though you could delete the PDF for sure....
RightPaddock 34 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 @jefito - Only 5 years - sometimes that feels like last week, other times like the century before last. I used EN to do a specific job in 2008/09, it might have been in beta or just out of it. Since then I've only used it in a desultory fashion to store web clippings - I recently discovered Copy Link which has renewed my interest. @gazumped - the person I want to lock out of inadvertent editing/deleting if notes is me, not other people . If it were possible to change the background colour of a note then I could use that as a warning that I'm probably doing the wrong thing. rp
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted January 13, 2015 Level 5* Posted January 13, 2015 If you distrust yourself so much, then get a second account, and share notebooks to your other account as read-only.
