...in the absence of which, the quickest thing I could think of is to have that specific notebook placed at the top of the Shortcuts list.

Whichever notebook is open when you exit EN will open when you return, FWIW.  Other than that, Frank's recommendation makes it a single click exercise.

It would be preferable to use a script, as I am trying to use Alfred to quickly open a notebook.

Since I actually use a Mac, and EN Mac, I can tell you that, yes, you should be able to do this via AppleScript (unless broken by the EN Mac recent updates, Versions 5.7.x and 6.x)

Do a google on "Evernote AppleScript" to see many examples.

Also, you can checkout Veritrope.com for Evernote AppleScripts.

Is there a way to open Evernote to a specific notebook? Perhaps using AppleScript?

@Cal & Frank: Geez, guys, don't you know that you volunteers need to certified before you can try to help another user?

For OP Ryan: the Evernote AppleScript page is here: https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/applescript.php. I think that you're looking for something like:

open collection window with query string "notebook:MyNotebook"

But I caution you, this is a rogue tip: I am not a Mac user. *gasp!*

Thank you Jeff (if that is your name, lol). I have settled on just opening a notebook to a new note. I can't wait to experiment with these when I go back to school :)
