Evernote Free accounts will have fifty notes and one notebook - does this also apply to the desktop app?

I'm running the free Evernote desktop note (I don't need synchronization with the cloud).  Does the limit on notes/notebooks apply to the desktop app too?

AFAIK it is not possible to use the EN client without logging into the online account.

Yeah, but it did seem to allow circumventing the limits on how many notes and/or size per month you could add when using the desktop app.  Apparently that loophole is about to be closed, though.

The limits apply to your account regardless of which device you use to access it.
