Request for help with a login that has lost access to email.

I submitted this to General Discussion, but they all assumed this was a lost password issue. It is not.

I am a user of several years with Evernote. I use my Google Email as my login.

My Google email was closed due to an issue with Google Adwords. This closure happened before I could change the email address attached to my Evernote account. I now need help in getting the LOGIN Email updated.

I submitted this issue as a guest user to tech support but received no response.

It has now been several weeks and I would like to get my Evernote data moved to my new Evernote account. Any chance of getting help with this issue?

Hi.  Please don't start new threads on an existing query,  you could simply have come back with more information in the original thread.  As you've already been told,  Support are the only source of help on login issues and they are busy;  if you followed the link you were given at the time you should be due a reply by now. The 'forgot password' option on the home page may work in this sort of case.  This help page deals with Google log-in issues... https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/230436427  If it does not,  please post your ticket number here and we'll flag it for a Forum admin to take a look at.

Exactly. I did follow the link and I have not received a reply, so I submitted again.

There is nothing on this page that deals with a lost access to Gmail account issue, when using Gmail to login to Evernote.

Yes, it has everything to do with EN.

I need tech support to change the Google email associated with my Evernote account. It's that simple.

I have read that this is something that can be done with a ticket to the support staff. Unfortunately, on my first post to support, I received no response in 3 weeks. So, I have decided to post to this forum -- Evernote Technical Teams -- in the hopes someone who can help will see it -- as is my right, no matter how much you believe it has nothing to do with EN.

Your link does not deal with the case of a Google email becoming unaccessible. It would be great to have a verification email sent to my Google email to clear this matter up, but since my email is not accessible, this is not a solution that will work in this case. You should have read it closer.

If, at anytime, a user can for whatever reason not access his/her Evernote data, including a corrupt login credential or a corrupt password credential, it is an Evernote support issue. If you choose to use a Gmail account to access Evernote, and the Gmail account needs correction, it is an Evernote support issue.

"If you can't access your Gmail account, this has nothing to do with EN." ...You got balls...

First - please play nice,  because we're all users around here,  not Evernote staff;  and there are rules in place for the forum about aggressive posting.

Plus we are actually giving you good advice.  If you don't want to hear it,  that's fine.  We can stop replying.

  1. Evernote cannot and would not play games with your Gmail accounts.  You are the only person entitled - by Google - to do that.  If there's a problem,  please take it up with Google.
  2. If you have a problem with your Google log-in,  you should also have a user name - usually your email address - plus a password you chose for Evernote.  You may be able to get this via the 'lost password' link I mentioned.
  3. The link I sent you contains this bit:

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your Google password: Request a password reset from Google

If you forget your Evernote password: Request a password reset from Evernote

Note: If you've never set up an Evernote password, set one up by requesting a password reset here.

...and I did offer to flag your ticket number for a Forum Admin (an Evernote employee) if it had been a while since you submitted it.   I don't know whether it will help,  but the offer is still there...

1. I never suggested that Evernote is playing games with my Google account. Never. The only reason that is in play is because of PinkElephant's comment.

2. I cannot get this issue addressed via the "lost password link." I tried.

3. This is not a password issue. It is a Username issue. None of the information regarding a password reset is germane.

It's like we're speaking different languages, but that's OK -- I don't want to do this anymore. I get that you guys are users, too, so I'll close the thread.

Thanks.

I realize this thread is closed, but I wonder if it is possible or how hard it would be to get access to Evernote (or any account for that matter) if I no longer had access to the email address associated to the account when I first signed up for it.

On the one hand, I'd want to gain access to my account if that ever happened to me. On the other hand, I don't want somebody else to be able to impersonate me and go back door to gain access to my account. So hopefully the proof that any company would require would weed out those imposters.

With Evernote, I'd definitely need my data and so I think this is another good reason to have periodic local backups (to ENEX). Worst case scenario, I'd be able to import my data into a new Evernote account or import my data into another program altogether.
