Update just erased all my notes from the last few years! HELP!!!

This new update just erased all my notes and started all over again! Had I known, I wouldn't have done it! How do I recover them?? In a bit of a panic here!

Do I have this right? You erase peoples' work for years just to force them to upgrade their Evernote by paying a subscription?

Hi.  We're mainly other users in the forums,  and you've provided no detail as to what has happened with your account,  but it sounds like you've been using the free app and have exceeded the device limit.  This help page may be useful - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/218558068

That is not what happened. I have not added any additional devices onto my Evernote. I've had it for years and when I updated this last update - which I am sorely regretting now - I'm not able to find ANY of my notes and yes, I've checked the trash and archive. Nothing. I'm upset and panicked.

And yeah, I figured out this actually isn't Evernote I'm trying to reach, because why would they be available to reach when stuff like this happens?

First check if you are in the right account:

Then no update erases anything on the master copy. Your notes are on the server, where they have ever been. 

If the local database can’t be used any more with a new update, it is removed and replaced by a fresh copy from the server.

Because we have nothing here but a vague description of „everything has vanished“, we can’t tell what may have happened. So maybe once you have finished panicking, you can come back and tell a little more about what you did, what happened, what happened next and where you are now.
