Locked out of Mobile App after too many PIN attempts

Apologies if this is the wrong forum. My wife (free account) forgot her Evernote Pin yesterday. After a number of attempts the App locked her out. How do we recover the App access? Using Iphone 12. Was using Fingerprint ID on Iphone 6 SE so didn't remember PIN when upgrading to Iphone 12.

Have raised a query with Evernote but hoping the collective wisdom will point us in the right direction for a fix.

You had the right idea - Support will sort it out.  You should have a ticket number immediately and will get a human (or at least a tech) follow up in a day or two.

Any Idea if deleting the App from the phone, re-installing  and then logging in with old details would work?

Basically I don’t understand why on a protected device like a smartphone an app needs to be protected additionally. But however, it seems the protection works …
