How DARE you update Evernote without permission?!

Your data master copy is on the server, not on the client.

What may put it in danger is insisting on running outdated, if legacy is meant deprecated software. Old software versions without the latest fixes are one of the major inroads for malware.

To be precise, the "you" you are addressing is not here. These are user-to-user forums. You can contact Evernote support here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, though I doubt that "we will never update our software again without your express permission" is not something they can promise you.

Since we are other experienced users here, if you can say a little about the specific problems you're encountering we may be able to offer some advice. Which version of Evernote are you currently running?
