Jason_nova 0
My daughter accidentally deactivated her account that was based on her one and only gmail email address. she is fine with losing everything but would like to create a new fresh account with her email. She has no other email address to use and it would suck to spin up an entirely new email address just to use Evernote. Is there any possible workaround here? Link to comment

Jason_nova 0
@DTLowThanks, but I think she selected the permanently close option. She wanted to “start over” but it appears she can’t open a new one now with the same email address. There is some language that it takes up to 40 days to complete the process. I am hoping it will allow her after the 40 days. anyone familiar with this type of account close process? Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,194 Posted May 3, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted May 3, 2022 If it was permanently closed, the account and all content is lost. About the email: I don’t think you should have any problem. Just get a new email address for free, and use it to start the new account. There are many providers out there. You can change it later to the permanent address using this procedure : https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313338 1 Link to comment
Boot17 1,473
With gmail you can create an infinite amount of unique email addresses that redirect to your same one gmail account. You do this by using the '+' character after the "regular" part of her name (and before the @gmail.com). See here for more details https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/9308648 (Note that some systems might not allow the '+' character to be used in account names. I am not sure if Evernote allows it or not.) But briefly, say her email was taylorswift@gmail.com. She could create a new Evernote account with the email address taylorswift+evernote2@gmail.com. Then later, she could change her email address back to the "normal" one later as @PinkElephant mentioned. Link to comment
Jason_nova 0
Thanks. I have an old yahoo account that I don’t use, so I created a new Evernote account with that email… then change it to my daughters email after. I actually just tried to change the email and it allowed me to add my daughters gmail address. She received a confirmation and clicked on it to accept… but the user details on the top left (web version) still show my yahoo email. Doesn’t seem to be changing… @Boot17 Link to comment
