Mike P 2,979
This was announced by @Shane D. here: It includes a reference to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313828 for a list of all the items you can now use with contains: However this just has a list of the filters. The advanced search syntax documentation which is referenced from here has no mention of contains: at all. So far my attempts to use contains: beyond the two specific examples given in that article and the three tasks searches mentioned in another post have been limited. Is there a definitive list of what can be searched for and the actual terms to be used? For example the filter for pdfs is called "PDF Files". None of the following work for me: contains:pdf contains:"pdf files" contains:PDFFiles contains:PDF For the record the following do work: contains:address contains:url contains:task contains:taskCompleted contains:taskNotCompleted Link to comment
Tom Donohue 28
@Mike P The Help articles still need to be updated with a list of the corresponding search syntax for each contains filter. Here's the list: contains:address contains:fileArchive contains:attachment contains:fileAudio contains:calendarEvent contains:enTodo contains:enCodeblock contains:contact contains:date contains:fileDocument contains:email contains:enCrypt contains:urlGoogleDrive contains:fileImage contains:numberInteger contains:list contains:numberReal contains:fileOffice contains:enTodo contains:filePdf contains:numberPercent contains:person contains:filePresentation contains:fileImage contains:list contains:phoneNumber contains:filePresentation contains:numberPrice contains:fileSpreadsheet contains:table contains:task contains:taskCompleted contains:taskNotCompleted contains:date contains:time contains:url contains:fileVideo contains:webclip 4 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,808 Posted July 22, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted July 22, 2021 Thanks for posting it here. The search syntax documents really need to be updated soon - a parameter nobody knows and can look up does not serve it purpose. Once accessible this is a great extension to the search syntax. 2 Link to comment

Here's the list: Thankyou, that is really useful. Interesting that in both search and filter you don't make a distinction between check boxes and checklists. Some of the items bring up notes I would not expect - particulalry list and table. It would be nice if these were much more specific. It seems to be mainly webclips where the underlying html contains tags but they don't actually look like lists or tables. 1 Link to comment
kongulu 11
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE contains:???? SYNTAX When I enter contains:filePdf nothing appears but when I enter resource:application/pdf all the pdf's appear Is the contains: syntax not enabled, or not fully working? Link to comment
Mike P 2,979
That's odd, definitely works for me (but gives two extra notes compared to resource:application/pdf!) . What version/device type are you using. It will only work on V10. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,808 Posted January 12, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted January 12, 2022 I want to second what @Mike P posted: I works for me as well. It needs to be written exactly as in the search syntax. Link to comment
