Notes in the cloud disappeared after updating to version 10.0.3

Recommended Posts

Hi. After updating the application to iOS, about half of the notes were loaded from the cloud. I went to the web version of Evernote, at first there were as many notes as in the native program for macos, then whole notebooks with thousands of notes began to disappear. As a result, there are only 1801 notes in the iOS application and in the web version, and 16304 in the Macos application. What to do ?? Regards Michael

In the web version, it was possible to return notebooks and notes by rolling back to the previous version, but nothing has changed in the iOS application. Several notebooks remained empty. Reinstalling the app doesn't help.

Generally, I wouldn't expect a device app version to have any such impact on the cloud data
I suspect you have a display issue with your web version
Try downgrading the web app version

I actually did just that, rolled back to the previous web version. After that, all the missing notebooks with notes appeared in the web version. Next, I uninstall and re-install the iOS application, log in to the application from the cloud, notes start loading, during synchronization I receive a call to the iPhone, I talk, after that I return to Evernote, but the same notebooks disappear again. I reinstall the application on the iPhone again, but again only a small part of the notes appears there, a little over 10 %. I again go to the web version (this is the previous version), and the same notebooks and notes 1802 again disappear there, as in the application for iOS. Everything is fine in the app for macos. How can this be ??

It turns out that the problem arises again after using the iOS version of Evernot. And what to do? Now to roll back the web version to the newest one? It's not funny anymore!

Why not?  Surely, if you deliberately delete a note in ANY version of the app, iOS, Mac, Windows, whatever, it will delete off the server.  That's usually what you intend to do.

So it seems entirely possible that if one version of the app - say the iOS version - is randomly deleting notes, they would get deleted off the cloud server too.  Then, next sync of your desktop app, they've gone.

I've stopped using my iOS versions of the app and disconnected them, until the problems have been fixed.  This is a right royal pain for me, but I'd prefer to live with the limitation of only using my Mac app rather than have the iOS versions of the app corrupt my notes, which I've been accumulating since almost as soon as Evernote started.

The OP reported that the notes are not deleted on the Mac desktop

Now that you mention it, I'm a bit confused about exactly WHAT the OP reported.  I read it as the notes had disappeared from the Web version of EN.  The fact that they were still in his  Mac OS version may have been just luck that it hadn't synced the deletions from the server, perhaps?  The web version would be looking directly at what's on the cloud server, wouldn't it?  So I can't see HOW notes can disappear from there without also disappearing from the Mac/Windows/iOS/Android versions too - once they've synced.

Bit of a mystery - but Shane seems to be on the case, so I'll keep my iOS updated versions disconnected until I hear that this problem, among others, has been definitively fixed.
