Search with paged results

Idea

Searches are usually slow, and even freezes the app, when number of notes are very large. It is frustrating and keeps the user waiting. I am using Evernote as a news feed reader. If I want to fire a search, I would most of the time require results say top 10 or top 20 from the most recently created/updated notes.

This creates a case for a feature requirement, where search process suspends (and not continue searching exhaustively), after displaying such specified number of results, with a "More.." button at the end. If the user wishes, he can continue to get more results, by clicking the button.

It will save time and resources, and make the app responsive.

I like this idea. I definitely have this problem on Windows, however I think there should be an option to switch it on and off. I only really search when I want to find an old note deep into my database.

I agree that this feature,  if implemented,  needs to be optional.  I search frequently to get a list of results which I can then 'adjust' to find the note(s) I need.  Having to hit 'more...' a few times during the process would not be fun.

It really helps to mention which Evernote client you are using; Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, web, etc. Searches can be slow for any number of reasons, and some clients do searching while you type. It might help to figure out why searches are slow for you, when in general, they're not for other users. Also, define your term "very large"

I am using Windows 10, 8GB DDR3, i7 processor on laptop. I have around 95K notes as news articles, 2K words each. Instant search while typing is disabled for me.
