untitled note - make the first line of each note the title automatically

Guest

Idea

I have posted this before but not in the feedback section so I'm trying to catch the attention of the devs because in this way, evernote is just plain stupid.

I must be mistaken..Evernote is touted as the biggest note app out there and all my notes come up as 'untitled note' as the app doesn't take the first line of the note as the title. I must be wrong? Surely they have not missed this basic feature? It's part of the ease of use and workflow built into every app, surely the developers thought of this? There have been so many updates for iOS, did i download an old version? Please tell me I'm wrong as this is bonkers to not have this feature. Why do i have to go through an extra step every time i create a note to add a title? Onenote has this.

Why are the developers not listening to the customer base?

Is there any word on when this is coming as other iterations of Evernote have it but the iOS version.

This is the one basic thing a notebook app should do: be able to take down readable notes quickly as possible

Do you know why my notebook looks like?

Evernote, what's your response? See the threads above, this has been asked by customers for years. Please add this one line of code in the app to take the first line and put it as the title. Now Microsoft has Onenote out, you'll have to step it up.

@untitled,

Who knows if that function will ever be added to the IOS version, one line of code or not.  In the meantime if you select Suggested Note Titles under General settings at least you won't get untitled anymore.

I'm hoping it will and it's mad this functionality isn't in evernote!

Thanks for the suggestion but I'd like the title of the note in write, to be the tile.

The suggested notes are not even hit or miss; it's a mess :( over engineered evernote, I'd just like not to see 'untitled note'!

My sympathies.  The one, I repeat one, benefit I get from suggested titles in IOS EN is with meeting notes since the title inherits my calendar title.  At least I have a context when I do clean up on my PC.

But I must admit in full disclosure, I'm not a proponent of first line and title being the same, I don't use it on WIndows EN.  Doesn't mean I don't think it shouldn't happen on IOS for others, just not my cup of tea.  And I agree it seems logical that note titling should be consistent across platforms.  But this forum is replete examples of base functionality that isn't.  Can't explain that.

Please I also want the first line to be the title.

What if i just want my note to be: "I love that girl..."

Should I put a tittle like: "A thought that crossed my mind one sunny day"?

I like to write songs and that kind of things, just are little thoughts that i want to write as fast as possible, i don't need to have a title.
