I should mention that the Evernote v10 Tag list is NOT respected the order of the Legacy Tag structure. I'm not sure but I think it's alphabetizing ALL subtags (regardless of depth) underneath one Level 1 tag. Demented, if so. (P.S. Thank goodness I have a copy of Legacy Evernote so I can go and look it up).

I have about 3K tags which I have been building and organizing for about ~12 years. Not really sure how to get the "whole" view of tags but occasionally I find one attached to the side list of Tags. There are only TWO options: by Frequency of tag use or Title. Although Legacy Evernote enabled me to create Alphabetic-ordered top level tags, with sub tags, and sub sub tags, and sub sub sub tags, etc. I find NO WAY to even see this now. This is the best Help topic on Nested Tags which I can find https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412905761299-Create-nested-tags so Evernote, at least, admits they should exist. Anyone with ideas about how to SEE them? Or modify them?

@justacat, I'm not sure because I can't quite remember logging into Evernote when the Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe expanded. I had downloaded the exe file from the internet and copied the Legacy data files from a portable SSD drive. Then I ran the exe file. The upgrade told me it wanted my password so it could log me in to Evernote so it could synchronize my notes. I did NOT provide the password. The exe file ended the Legacy install without synchronizing my data; it did re-ask me for my password half dozen times. Then I shut off internet access on that Win 7 computer (as noted above) (All this was done before 23 March 2024) That's surprising. For years I shut my computer off at night and I was not asked to login to Evernote every day.

How does one do a Search using a tag which searches in ALL notebooks? And can this be saved to be the default?

By now, it may not be possible to do this anymore because I believe that En 6x cannot be loaded anymore. Back then, I backed up my Evernote Legacy on Win 10 computer. I then copied those Legacy data files to a Win 7 computer. Also on the Win 7 computer I installed Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe which installed Evernote Legacy and opened those data files. Which are still running now on the old computer. Back then I upgraded to En 10x on my Windows 10 computer which is currently running En 10.81.4. We did have a neighbourhood internet outage a few days ago and, for the first time EVER, I could not access my Evernotes! (The program was still running but I could not see the content of any notes). Plus ça change . . .

What did you move to, Cal?

In Legacy, Evernote printed the note and rendered the content of any pdf. The content in the pdf is visible in modern Evernote, but now, Print Preview dialogue shows only a grey bar with Adobe icon and "Untitled Attachment" Is there any way to fix this?

When selecting text In a note, one has the option to identify the type of text: Header (large, medium, small) or Normal Text. So one can select Normal Text and there is a further option to Update 'Normal text' to match. Selecting this option will change all the 'Normal text' in that note. But this only works for that ONE note. How does one change ALL 'Normal Text' across ALL notes? (I.e. to change the default for 'Normal Text'). @Dave-in-Decatur and @PinkElephant, thanks for pointing to the Print Dialogue boxes. 🙂

In Evernote 10, are there any options to how a note will be printed? I.e. margins, fonts, font size, etc.

Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe installs Evernote Legacy. Before you run this upgrade, put a copy of Legacy data files in a properly named directory on the other (Old) Windows computer. Disconnect the Old computer from the internet (so it can't call home.) Run the "upgrade". The install program will try to log you in to sync. Don't let it sync. Voilà, you now have a Legacy version of Evernote running. Next week we'll see if it still runs. 😀 Meanwhile, your Current Windows computer will be running version 10.

I successfully revitalized a Windows 7 computer, loaded Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe copied Legacy data files there, and ran the upgrade. The upgrade wanted to sync with the mother ship, but I did not provide a password to Evernote. It re-asked half dozen times. There was one Evernote which reported it was unable to download something, so I deleted that note. I disconnected Win 7 pc from internet. Win 7 machine is still connected to internal network (and printer). I had had trouble getting the .exb file to the Win 7 box. After a couple attempts, I ran out to a computer store and bought a 1TB SSD drive which copied my data file correctly in minutes! As far as I can tell, Evernote Legacy is all working fine. There is a red exclamation point on the Sync button. I am running Evernote 10.79.3 on Windows 10 Desktop.

@PinkElephant, should this be the link in downloads? I *was* running Evernote_6.25.1.9091.exe, but on March 6th I downloaded Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe. Which is correct? Will this "exe" give me an option to redirect where the data files should be located?

If one clips from a webpage, how does one Remove Formatting from the note? In the old En, one could delete the end character of text which would pull up the next line of text (and delete the formatting of the subsequent line). Now there seems no way to do this. Are there any formatting controls for the note when printing (i.e. Control+P)?

Where do I change default font and font size? (Windows 10 Desktop)

In v6, I could click on Tags which displayed fully across my desktop monitor, in hierarchy order. Now a small popup screen displays 19 tags. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

The note was encrypted in <v6 times. Now that I'm in v10, how do I convert the note "back" to a readable state? It only shows as a .png of the "encryption image" from <v6.

I am able to type something into the Search Box which brings up a list of a few notes. Nothing I do will SELECT ONE of those notes: No double-click, right-click, to the left or right of the note. Hovering over the note does tell me that there is a .pdf there, but I cannot select it or open it. Ideas?

Horizontal monitor. Leftmost column is Shortcuts, with a Search box on top, followed by a New Note button. Next column is a list of Notes, sorted in update order Last column is content of selected Note. If I put characters into the Search box, a popup window appears which blocks most of the visible parts of my Shortcut list, as well as the left side of all the *selected* notes, i.e. the search is useless because of the size of the popup window. I cannot move the Search box window out of the way! Now what? My topmost search was for ACTIVE notes which do not contain tag "Archive". Interestingly, if I add a new note now, it automatically gets the tag "Archive". Any idea what's going on? My password protected notes, contain only the png image of the password encryption. No content! Ideas? TIA

I'm looking for a help page (from Evernote) which contains a list of tasks for me to perform, as well as a discussion of what will occur while Evernote upgrades my system to version 10.

I can't find any Evernote help topic about what tasks to perform in what order? (I know this seems silly). TIA Edited to add: I have backed up my Legacy files.
