  1. Hi @jefito and @CalS My Windows settings have been set (for many years) for pdf to be opened by Adobe. My issue is with THIS version of Evernote. In prior versions of Evernote, on the note display there was a toolbar near the top page of the pdf. Clicking on the eye opened that particular pdf file in Adobe. This NO LONGER works.
  2. @7wonders There is a setting in Options where you can set to view pdfs as attachments. Not very good news about the interface with Adobe though. Certainly right click, find the right Open, then click to open is quite cumbersome!
  3. @CalS Howdee, long time no see! I'm on Win 7/64. NOTHING has changed in my system except that I let Evernote upgrade itself to this version. PDFs are set to be opened by Acrobat (outside of Evernote). Inside of Evernote, I can't see how to load the file.
  4. There's nothing in options to indicate that I don't care for Evernote's pdf tool. Where do I reset where Evernote looks for pdf? TIA
  5. At the top of the page, the up-arrow. Right, @cmolina?
  6. @Dave.Robinson16@Gmail.com, I really don't know why you're creating brand new entries for requests which have already been documented. If you have more specifications to add, you could just do so as an amendment to this discussion. Just my (not so) H. O. @Pixie8, did you VOTE on this idea? (Top of discussion, left side: up or down carat)
  7. I'm confused. Why create a new request? Why not just amend this request with your added notes?
  8. Here is a sample of the problem. I began this note by typing directly into the note. You'll notice that I structure documents like someone who has been editing and publishing paper documents for many years, i.e. the heading is attached to the text for which it is the header. It is easy to delineate Heading1, link1, and Body1 (bulleted list, new para). The pasted text is Title2: Finally, A Cable That . . . Link2: popular mechanics . . . Text2: Feb 29, 2016 . . . Title3: How USB Charging Works . . . Link3: extremetech.com Test3: Apr 19, 2017 etc. For me, I'm going to have to reprocess this document every time I reference it because it does not organize the data I'm looking at. I'm going to have to figure out what every single line in the note means because each entity is surrounded by equal space. Note that there are no extra lines (CR) between paragraphs in the pasted text. @csihilling, Yes, Ctrl-Shift-L does convert the data to monospaced text (without arbitrary space above and below) and adds a line between each paragraph. I am able to delete the excess lines. However, using Ctrl-Shift-L a second time gets rid of the code block but leaves the entire text blue. Which I would have to remove. This seems a cumbersome and ineffective workaround. I'll report this to support. And let you know what happens.
  9. @csihilling, 1 2 3 Single spaced 1 2 3 With "extra" leading.
  10. In my Evernote, I don't have spaces between paragraphs which, you will notice, exist in all of @csihilling's sample posts. In the old days, this would have been called leading. @gazumped: Yes. Pasting into notepad first removes all that formatting junk. But it seems unnecessarily convoluted. Mostly I use Firefox for all my exploring; I don't like the way Chrome and Evernote work together. I'm in Win 7/64 with most modern Firefox.
  11. If I scrape, copy and paste into a note (not using the web clipper), En promptly increases the spacing between paragraphs for the rest of the note. Changing all the text to 10 points doesn't change that spacing back to single-space. Nor does Simplify Formatting and/or Remove Formatting. I find that really, really, really irritating. Any advice?
  12. This problem would be reduced (or my problem would be reduced) if we joined forces in our request. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/104648-copy-format-from-selected-text-paste-format-onto-new-selected-text/
  13. Hope moderator will merge these requests. Here's mine. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/104648-copy-format-from-selected-text-paste-format-onto-new-selected-text/
  14. @EvernoteLover9, I didn't know this. How useful, thanks. Encrypting a whole notebook would also be wonderful.
  15. Just like Excel's paintbrush where font size, bold, italic, spacing above/below, colour, indent are copied by marking the source text and then marking the destination text.
  16. And where would I find this, oh brilliant @csihilling and @jbenson2?
  17. Per suggestions here, I have removed the "All Notes" button, and now have a Shortcut at the top of the list which excludes the tag "Archive". The problem I have is the same problem @rwpritchett has, which is that BY DEFAULT Evernote cannot be set to exclude the tag "Archive". It used to be that Search had two choices: the whole database or "within the current search". If that feature returned, it would solve all my problems because I use the Shortcut to look at all notes, and so searches using that Shortcut would exclude tag "Archive". However, while I use Evernote every day, I do not use Evernote search enough to have memorized all the keyboard keystrokes, etc. So I have to look up how to do this every gol dern time.
  18. @Kater Louis, are you suggesting a notebook below every active notebook (stack) which is titled Archive? Will EN allow that? I understand that it would be very easy to make sure that all notes in the notebook have been tagged with "Archive". If you don't mean that, then what do you mean?
  19. The important issue for Evernote to recognize is that adding an archive feature relieves the user of the need to specify every single damned time that one wishes the archived notes excluded. Everything else is a time-consuming workaround.
  20. @csihilling, what version are you running? I'm on Windows and don't see those options.
  21. Where is the arrow? Not on the Windows Desktop Product Feedback table I don't think. . . . Aaaah, I see it on the left hand side of this page, beside the original question. TIA
  22. Thanks @DTLow. How does that post tally the votes? It says 2 and the original post has 3 people who like it (i.e. 4).
