I didn't think the file format could be related to this. The files I was trying to edit are PNG – the ones which didn't work. Now I converted them to JPEG and it worked. So it seems to be an issue with PNG files only.

Previously I could open any image attached to a note and make edits to it on any other software. Then, as soon as I saved the image on the app I was using, Evernote would update it in the note.
Today I tried doing this as I usually did, but nothing happens to the attached file. I can see it isn't a previewing issue only, because when I open the file again, it's exactly as it was originally.
Is this a bug or an intentional change to the app behavior?

On my iPad I have a PDF inside a note. I need to transfer this PDF file to another note.
These are the simples methods iPadOS offer, which don't work in Evernote:
- Dragging from one note to the other
- Copying the file and pasting
- Using clipboard managers like Yoink
- Dragging from the note to the Files app (it exports the PDF as an HTML file with the wrong size) and dragging it back to the note
The only way I could make it work is saving the PDF to Files and then insert a new file on the new note. It's a very inefficient method.

It's been almost 2 years since this was reported. Evernote could as well remove the option for black and white scanning while it doesn't have that feature, so we aren't mislead.

+1
That's something I need too. It's been a long time I've been looking for a way to do this, but I couldn't find a workaround.

Just coming here to say Evernote's last update resulted in amazing results on my MBA M1 2020. The loading spinning thing that showed at every note change is something from the past now.

Evernote staff have mentioned that it's being tested, so it should be coming in the not-too-distant future.
Hi. Do you remember where they mentioned it?

The forum is user2user. Do you expect an answer here ?
EN rarely comments on future projects. You most likely get informed with the release notes, when it is available.
IIRC I've seen staff posting here. Maybe I'm wrong.

Nothing yet. Only web, mailto: and message: links working on the Mac as far as I've tested.
This should be a no-brainer decision. Every day more apps and services use their own URLs to make our lives easier. Contextual computing is on the rise. Evernote should embrace this asap.

Hello, does anyone know if it's possible to add a new calendar item through the new Google calendar widget or is it only possible to view existing calendar items? Thanks!
@playball25 you can only view current calendar events for the moment.

@Steve Klinghoffer I'd also like to know what's the default sync interval.

The bug is doing well, just tried. Scanned on the iPhone, selected b/w as document type. The picture was saved with all colors.
@Shane D. Any news about that bug ?
@martinewski Better type an „@„ in front of the user name. Makes it easier for the addressed person to fish the posting.
@PinkElephant I thought quoting already notified the user. Thanks for letting me now about mentions.

@Paul A. Unfortunately this bug is important for me on the long-term usage of Evernote, as color images are larger to store on the disk. Some documents' quality is also better when scanned in B&W. I hope this is addressed soon.

@martinewski Thank you for letting us know!
I've been able to reproduce this myself, and we've opened a report with our development team for them to investigate/fix the issue.
I'll follow-up here once I have an update!
Hi Shane. I'm still facing this situation. How's that bug going?

The command exists in Edit > Switch to... and it does work there. Only the keyboard shortcut is missing.
I added it to the Keyboard Preferences pane, in the App Shortcuts area. It works perfectly.
Select Evernote in the Application dropdown menu:
You should end with this:

This was solved on v10.10.
Awesome!

Nothing yet. I miss it so much. I takes 3 touches vs 1 touch to create a new note with photo/scanner etc.

Hello everyone
After taking a picture on Evernote for iOS v10.9 and cropping it on the same device, Evernote on the Mac v10.12.6-mac-ddl-public (2583) is showing this error when I try to annotate it:
Image too large - This image cannot be annotated on your platform.
Shouldn't photos taken WITH Evernote on a mobile device be compatible with the other platforms?

This has been happening for months already:
- Whenever I touch a card in my notes, most of them change their title and body size. Depending on what I do after that, it remains or reverts the size.
This is happening on version 10.8:
- Whenever I touch a card in Home most of them change their title and body size. When the Home screen is scrolled, most of my notes change their title and body size intermittently.
Here's a video showing the odd behavior.

I really hope Evernote has a performance team that is constantly trying to improve performance of all the apps. I haven't noticed any major improvements in App performance since the new version has come out.
I've noticed off late that even the web version is prohibitively slow. Basic things like typing in the note editor and adding a tag oftentimes has a 4-5 second lag. It is not a pleasant experience. I often find myself switching back to the old faithful native Mac client.
I'm concerned that Everntote should not take it's focus off performance as it continues to add fancy new features and in achieving feature parity with legacy Evernote.
I’d say this is the “new normal”

HEIC is not an Apple exclusive format and I suppose iOS+macOS users are a great market share of Evernote. I understand HEIC files are about half the size of other formats and this wouldn't help free users migrate to the Premium tier. If Evernote doesn't want to support the newer and better HEIC files, IMO the app should convert them locally to JPEG when attaching these files.

This is such a loss. It takes forever to open Evernote, touch the up arrow, touch what I want.
Previously we only needed to touch the icon, touch what we wanted and BOOM. Happening.

This is an issue I'm facing too. It breaks my whole workflow.
Saving image edits does nothing to the file inside a note
in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)

I'm nailing it down to iPhone screenshots only. Any other PNG file works fine. Bizarre.
