I don't see an answer so here's what I'm working with
Setting read-only status by updating the database column contentclass as described in https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/read_only_notes.php
- Setting contentClass makes a note read-only
I'm using Applescript to access the database
for example do shell script "sqlite3 " & quote & targetDatabaseFile & quote & " " & quote & sqlText & quoteHey @DTLow, mind going further into detail about how to actually find the database folder? I know I have to set the contentclass, and now I know that the contentclass isn't in an .enml, but in the database. And... I didn't know that there was a database! So any help is much appreciated. 🙂

And Script and Handwritten -- do people really use those?
Lol. Now that is one heck of a question. Seriously!
Who in the heck actually uses the curly-cue calligraphy script—let alone the handwritten script? Anyone?
Like isn't that what drawings are for?...
Nice point.

Hey @dalembertian,
Not sure about desktop, but on the web versions you can change the editor to the classic editor—like in the below image.

Lol. I came here FROM nimbus notes. It has a whole bunch of extra features that Evernote doesn't, but that app is just riddled with bugs. Just open the web inspector and look at how much code is needed for a paragraph.

<div>hi!</div> <div>The text editor for this forum, lets you insert codeblocks with syntax highlighting, but...</div> <div>Evernote itself, the app that this forum is for, does not!</div> <div>That's kinda crazy! The text editor for the evernote forum has more features than the text editor for the evernote app!</div>
V10 is looking really nice though! Well done on that!
