  1. @agsteele I think it is not there for v8 Evrenote for Android. Thanks for letting me know that it is there for v10 Evrenote for Android. @gazumped Thank you your reply. As for the folllowing: I want to upgrade to v10 Evernote for Android. However I am afraid there might be notes just in my local Android, because it has yet to syncrhonized with the server. There are 2 cases that I've noticed: HIDDEN: When I clip multiple webpages on my Android in quick succession, it does not immediately show on my Evernote for Android. It takes time for it to show on my Android: sometime it shows up the next morning but I am fearful that there are those that never show that I do not know about it 😨. UPLOADING IN PROGRESS: Even if the HIDDEN ones do show up on my Android, there are those that are still "uploading in progress" back from 2017 when it's 2022 (as shown in my screenshot at the bottom of this reply). I checked that it is not reflected in my Evernote for Windows. Although the screenshot shows that "Clip failed", that is not the reason why it is not being uploaded because I have a lot of "Clip failed" notes on my Evernote for Windows (which were clipped from my Android). I have tried to push (synchronize) on my v8 Evernote for Android, but it doesn't work and "Duplicate note" also stays HIDDEN (doesn't work). So if I can either find the following on my v8 Evernote for Android: The total number of indexed notes, including the HIDDEN and UPLOADING IN PROGRESS, on my Evernote for Android Way to search for HIDDEN and UPLOADING IN PROGRESS on my Evernote for Android then I can at least know what I will be leaving behind when I uninstall v8 Evernote for Android. I will have a little peace of mind and be "free at last" from the old version.
  2. Thanks for the tip @PinkElephant, I do not know if I have followed your instructions correctly, but I think it is not there for Evernote for Android (v 8.13.3). Here is screenshot from my Evernote for Android (translated the necessary parts of the Japanese into English).
  3. I am looking for something similar to the following screenshot from Evernote for Windows (v 6.25.1.9091) on my Evernote for Android (v 8.13.3). Is there such feature on the Evernote for Android? Evernote for Android does show number of notes for each notebook so do I need to cumbersomely tally up all the number of notes in each notebook?
  4. I recently found out that Evernote saves data on my Android device's internal memory. This is mentioned in How is Evernote data stored on my Android device?: It is taking up so much space and now I want to uninstall it from my device. However there seem to be few notes that are still being clipped (*1) or unsynchronized (*2). I am afraid of losing them if I uninstall my app since the notes are in progress. I was lucky to find these old notes to begin with. So here are my questions: How can I search for clipping in progress notes How can I search for unsynchronized notes (synchronization or upload in process notes) These notes are from 3 years ago and I wonder how can I force them to finalize clipping or synchronizing (I keep on pressing the "Sync" button with no luck even though my device is connected to the WiFi) For your information, my Evernote app version on my Android device is v8.13.3. *1 Clipping in Progress *2 Unsynchronized notes (synchronization or upload in process notes)
  5. When opening (clicking) internal note link, have an option to open a new window. It would be nice to have it just like "Tool > Option > Note > Open New Note in its Own Window" option but instead "Open Internal Note Linked Note on its Own Window"
  6. This is frustrating. They should keep the tab character as is or better yet ... let the user decide what they want to do with tabs. Here is an example from: Visual Studio Code (> User Guide > Basic Editing > Indentation).
  7. Regardless of the sort order (by title, by created date, ...), there are certain notes that I want it to appear at the top of the list. So for every notebook, I want to pin (e.g. like pinning in Microsoft Start menu) few notes so they appear at the top when there are no search terms.
  8. Thanks both (PinkElephant & gazumped) but all the same with Microsoft Edge 😭 (and I am writing this post from Microsoft Edge). Oh well. I guess I am not the chosen one. Windows 10 Pro (same machine as before) Microsoft Edge browser [86.0.622.38 (Official Build) (64 bit)] URL that I use for posting: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/53-evernote-general-discussions/?do=add (same url as before)
  9. Here are the info you've requested: Windows 10 Pro Google Chrome browser [85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64 bit)] URL that I use for posting: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/53-evernote-general-discussions/?do=add Sorry for not being specific in my previous reply below (I fixed the original reply for clarification):
  10. Thanks for your reply @PinkElephant. I do not know if it is due to where I am placing my posts or my Google Chrome browser [85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64 bit)] ...but I do not see the menu. This is what I see.
  11. In Evernote Forum posts, how could I add tags like the ones shown below in red circle.
  12. For my Evernote for Windows [6.25.1.9091 (309091) Public (CE Build ce-62.6.10954)], merged notes get trashed into "Trash" by default without the need to check "Keep copy of original notes" checkbox as mentioned in the link. However, there are times when you do clean out the trash (purge the original unmerged notes) but realize later that you want to unmerge. So I think there should be an option for unmerging a merged notes.
  13. I would love this feature as well, if it hasn't been implemented yet. I am glad @cervidae wrote about it and I have to agree. Furthermore, it had an option for automatically creating a "Table of Content" (TOC). For example, with a hit of a TOC button, it would look at merged note headers and automatically created the TOC. It would then place the created TOC at the top of the note like so:
  14. Ooops. I realized that this question has been answered before below and I checked that it worked. Navigate backward shortcut button Could not find it in official site in English but found these: How to Customize Your Evernote Toolbar in Windows Evernote のこんな機能、知ってますか?(ランダム 10 選) 2. ツールバーを自分仕様にカスタマイズ (Windows/Mac) Bring back theBACK and FORWARD note navigation
  15. I have created an internal note link and I have kind of created a chained link like so. Note1 ---> Note2 ---> Note3 ---> Note4 When I click the created internal link on a Evernote for Windows, it moves to the linked note. However it would be nice to move back or move forward like in a browse through viewed history like the button circled in red. It can be placed in the tool bar beside the "Sync" button like so: Also 1) it does not have to be limited between internal links but history of viewed notes 2) if you pop the note to a different window, then the popped window (note) can contain the move back and move forward button
  16. Now it is more clear Master. Thank you (I guess if I was truly fallen to the darkside ... I wouldn't say "Thank you" but "Yes Master" 😁). I just wish Evernote highlighted it if the search term was shown (like in red circle below) but I understand and it is also hard to highlight things if it was hidden. I also noticed that for Evernote, the pdf filename is shown during loading (on the left hand side of the red circled area) and once finished loading changes to title of the PDF (if it has one) like below. I thought it was interesting so I mentioned it. This would be hard to highlight since the thing shown changes in the midst.
  17. @gazumped, thank you for the comments. I understand now that there are things that is not shown but it is embedded. Like you said, I viewed the "Project Jupyter Home.enex" with a text editor and "ipynb" was there like in your replied image. This was unexpected since I did look at the source code of "Project Jupyter | Home". Not too important but I did not understand the following Master 😅 ... dropdown on the note "frame"?
  18. gazumped, it will be interesting how it is done, especially how to transfer the information to spreadsheet (Excel) so you can use advanced sorting features and then transfer back the info to Evernote so it can be deleted. I am also interested in other thing mentioned below (IFTTT, Zapier): If you do write an article, then I will most certainly read it ... however you have convinced me with Evernote Clean Up: Should I clean up my act in Evernote? 😄. You have turned me into the dark side 😆 .
  19. Thank you @gazumped. Some of my notes are long in length. So I just want to jump to where it found the match. It seems that highlighting feature doesn't work for note's attached filename (if it found "ipynb" in the attached filename [including in its extension] then I want it to highlight the matched part of the filename). Furthermore, in my attached note of "Project Jupyter Home.enex", it says that it found a match through "Find what you need" interface but I really do not know where it found the match. There is no highlight. I also tried searching "Project Jupyter Home.enex" using "Find Within Note (Ctrl + F)" but it says there is no match. This seems to be a bug either in "Find what you need" interface (where it said it found it) or "Find Within Note (Ctrl + F)" (where it says it doesn't). I just want to see where it matched like in these images. I have not read in the original post (Why can't I search within a note?) in full but I liked its image so I've reused it.
  20. Thank you for setting up this thread and revealing your true self. I will keep your secret. However ... I noticed that you changed your Evernote profile picture recently. So I decided to clip the article in question since you might decide to change it 😅.
  21. I am new to this forum so, thank you (gazumped) for not hijacking the thread and letting me know the etiquette of forums. So important in these days and age. Also sorry but I changed the comment to the following since I realized there was a mistake in my writing. I hope the changed version is more readable. Not that I want the feature that badly anymore (after reading your Evernote Clean Up: Should I clean up my act in Evernote?), I did think of an interface so I am just posting a comment ... just in case Evernote plans to implement it. It is more of a personal reply to myself. So it is not worth replies from others. It is probably not well thought out and I have lost much of the appetite for this feature. However I just jotted them down. Below is an interface for showing duplicate (or near duplicate) results. To simplify things, a single Evernote can only be bundled (belong) to the most closest duplicate. The interface for searching for duplicate (or near duplicate) might be something like this for example: Not duplicate if "Title" is not the same (check box) Not duplicate if "URL" is not the same (check box) Not duplicate if "Content Match" is less than ●●●% (slide bar from 0% to 100%) (Use dynamic programming to calculate "Content Match")
  22. Thank you both (PinkElephant & gazumped) for your comments. Yes, the following was what I was looking for ... Also thank you (gazumped) for the following article: Evernote Clean Up: Should I clean up my act in Evernote?. It was very easy read (easy to follow logic), informative, and entertaining. I am beginning to agree with you. If the notebook is just for me (my personal use) then it is not worth the hassle of cleaning it up rigorously. And ... since the notebook is just for me, I won't worry about cleaning it up that much. Regarding the article, who are the people in the picture in circle (color) and in the picture in the background (greyscale). Sorry, I had to ask. Also what does "SC" in "SC 20200929" stand for?
  23. After clipping a lot of notes, how can I go back after a while to find out some of them might be of the same clipping. Is there a way to sort by how similar the clippings are to each other (same content -> same title -> same url -> similar size of the note -> timestamp, etc.) Is there a way to find duplicates or find the latest one so you can discard the old ones to free space and clean up the search space?
  24. Through "Find what you need" interface of Evernote for Windows (6.25.1.9091 (309091) Public (CE Build ce-62.6.10954)), I can search for attached filename in a note as mentioned in this forum "response comment". However, it does not highlight the matched filename of the attachment in orange. I also tried "Find Within Note" (Ctrl + F) but it doesn't highlight it as well in bright yellow. Furthermore, I clipped "Project Jupyter | Home" using Evernote Web Clipper (7.13.1) on my Windows (10 Pro: 18363.1082) Google Chorme Browser (85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64 bit)) as is today (29/Sep/2020) as an "Evernote Web Clipper settings (Article)" as shown in the attachment ("Project Jupyter Home.enex"). I then searched for "ipynb" through "Find what you need" interface and it lists the notes as being having "ipynb". However it does not highlight where the Evernote for Windows found it. This is also true when using "Find Within Note" (Ctrl + F). It can't find it through this interface as well. Project Jupyter Home.enex
  25. Where do you (CalS) get all these useful information? I see your replies everywhere (not just mine). I am really grateful for sharing your knowledge with me. I also really really wish Evernote put the information you've provided me on to their official documentation: - How to use Evernote's advanced search syntax I guess the things that still eludes me is the following (which I suspect for some of them are still not available as a search feature): This is just my personal notes on thing I found from other posts which I found useful: - Find Note Author - Search notes with source URL: Cheat sheets (for advanced search syntax)
