Since Android has a global market share of around 70%, iOS 28% considering mobile operating systems I am wondering what is driving this company's decisions on virtually ignoring the Android world. I noticed this in the forums as well. EN staff does not make use of the feedback. And the homepage still says EN 10 for Android is out... well rolling out is obviously stopped but support denies any information about it.

With EN 10 you have no chance to check, if any information is synced or not. "All changes saved" definitely does not correspond to syncing in any way. This was proved within this forum and imho does only mean the changes have been written to a cache (hopefully). Only way to check is to open web interface.

I would strongly suggest doing regular full backups with Evernote Legacy until they implement a backup/export option in EN 10.

For a full backup in Evernote Legacy reinstall it from Evernote support page and make sure it has completed a full sync. Legacy and EN 10 can be installed side by side on your machine. Having synced you log off from your account, then seeing the log-in screen you press CTRL+SHIFT+E, select your account and voilà, EN Legacy will do a full export creating a folder on your desktop with an ENEX-file per notebook. That's how I do it on a regular basis since EN once lost several precious media files from my journals (yes, dead hardlinks to my attachments on their server end) and the support never could bring it back nor could explain how missing files could occur on professional cloud service. Enjoy peace of mind with your backups 🙂

Sadly this shows the notorious ignorance of CEO and the EN staff. Leaving us with this premature spell checker and kicking off almost every non english typing user for months. Ignoring necessary foundation work. But in meantime wasting time playing around with shiny dashboards...

Early at school kids learn that homework comes first, then playing. Obviously no one at EN can remember this simple rule. 

Hard to see, they leave us with this until 2021...

Unfortunately two updates later neither on web nor on desktop resolved (10.5.7). Having the work arranged around shortcuts that makes me mad 🙄  

I can confirm, for me neither on german play store. Reading some of the horrible forum entries about losing data, not saving and so on with reaction by EN staff, maybe they completely stopped their stagged roll-out and we will see at any point of time V10.X but not V10.0.

Absolutely agree, I found it somehow funny to find out, that even the initial keyboard-shortcut to open the shortcut list does not work for all german users. Unfortunately localization has no priority for Evernote since EN 10 as already seen with the premature spell checker since months or the incomplete localization of the whole gui with a lot of english terms not being translated (at least in german version). I reported this weeks ago. Nothing happens.

I saw this in 10.5.6 too...and then I saw the ongoing multi-language spell-checking bug, bug in note counts in shortcuts...new keyboard short cuts not working completly... I would love if Evernote would put energy more in the basics, bug tracking and getting back known functionality before playing around with shiny gui adjustments we probably are being forced to use in a month or so... This leak does not blind me at all.

As with update to 10.5.6 the problem has vanished. All windows titles now have the correct title beside the little elephant 👍

Just checked it with version 10.5.6 bug still implemented. I would like EN more to focus on bugs with basic functionality than on glossy GUIs. 😞

I would suggest raising a ticket to let them know. For my experience sync is neither "seamless" nor reliable as advertised for the all new foundation releases.

Support should get to know every bug we are encountering to make their priorites. Be careful with your data and be sure to have always 1 oder 2 offsite ENEX-backups in any case. 😉  

Exactly @Mike P, I have some notes where the titel bar of the window stays blank beside the elephant. These seem to be often and recently edited notes. Notes from the past or never edited notes show the normal title bar as Mike P shows in his screen shot. Interesting: when opening these notes, the  correct title is short visible for around 1 second, then is wiped out to blank title bar. Strange behaviour. Have opened a bug ticket. 

Hi, I have several notes where changes to these control boxes are never saved or synced. 

I mean these boxes:

All changes to the notes involving these boxes are completely ignored and not synced anymore. You edit everything, it says "all changes saved", switch between notes and voilà. next time you open the note, it is as before.
I stopped using these boxes and stick to check boxes instead, they seem to edit, save and sync correctly. Sad, that sync is still buggy and "all changes saved" still means absolutely nothing for real. Anyone else experiencing this problem involving control boxes?

When I open notes in separate windows, these windows sometimes have no title (blank). The title is shortly flashing upon opening the note...then blank title bar. Obviously this makes navigating between several evernote windows difficult. I cannot figure out, why this only happens to some notes - not all.

Example (note is opened in separate window), the title bar keeps blank  but would have to say "Überblick" beside the green elephant. This behaviour happens with dark and bright mode.

My last posting has been deleted by Evernote, I guess because I pointed out, that Shane D marked this topic as resolved although it is not.

Now I try again...I also saw the posting of EN staff saying it is on roadmap for EN 10.6. So at least there was hope... But this posting has been removed so we are again not sure if our professional note taking editor will come back again. 

There was a posting from EN support a few days ago saying it should be fixed with EN 10.6. This would be terribly late and somehow underlines they missed the purpose of a note taking app in general and especially forgot about all multilanguage users.

In between this posting was deleted...now we can guess what this means...

Hi, Evernote unfortunately did not listen to the forums and just also introduced the buggy note count of the desktop client to all new web 10.5.1.

If you are using note count on notebooks in the shortcut section, removing the very last note in a notebook always is ignored. Example: you have 1 note left in your inbox and delete this note (or move), the counter of that notebook in your shortcuts stays "1" (not switching to "0"). Nasty bug. Sadly, it is distributed throughout all platforms now. Shared code base = shared bug base. The dark mode is nice but not to price of new bugs. 😞

Wow, obviously syncing even with the new v10 apps is not that smooth as EN claims. Very disappointing experience. If Web seems ok you perhaps you could delete local data and freshly resync all devices from web? But be sure to have an ENEX export at any time!

With 10.4.4 still not addressed. As EN staff obviously does not care much about out reports here I just started a bug report ticket. Let's see how long it will last to squeeze this little bug. Fun fact: shared code base = shared bug base: The same bug was freshly introduced with Evernote Web 10.5.1. We have to get used to +1 feature equals +1 bug?

You can export at any given time via Evernote 6.25 - called Legacy now... one of the many reasons everybody should have a side installation of it to do regular backups of all content. In any case...we do not know where Evernote is going to.

It is not about the individual. There was are regular communication of CEO. It just stopped after launching the desktop apps - and after we saw neither the iOS apps nor the desktop app were actually near to replace the former apps... weeks have gone and EN keeps silent....problems persist and no roadmap ahead. I mean, if you have a road map, that could user give peace of mind...why not share. Totally cutting off all communication of CEO for me is the main sign, they are facing real trouble  / got lost in their "we don't plan". So regular exporting stuff to a local backup seems a reasonable action to me. Unfortunately not all users are aware of the difference between sync and backup.

Somehow ridiculous how they think they have built a better editor and simply forgot to integrate a mature spell checking. Instead Evernote staff declares problem as solved. For me this kind of interaction is ignorant. Sad.

Just checked this with EN 10.4.3, problem still not solved... annoying that my inbox is constantly indicating a note, which is not there anymore... 😞

and you are of course right, this is not a democracy, it's a commercial enterprise - that's precisely why the only way to influence the course of action is (potentially temporary) cancellation. but anybody to decide on their own of course...

That is the market mechanism I meant. The obviously only way to signal our disapproval is through the (potential) decrease of income. I believe all the anger would be much less, if Evernote would actively support and maintain their native apps within the ecosystem until they have a new client with feature and performance parity. I cannot approve being put to the sidetrack left with an unsupported and meanwhile buggy legacy client. This mistake of degrading and declaring the functional clients to unsupported "legacy" was a step, Evernote could easily undo AND still go ahead on their route to build new apps.

It would show much appreciation for their customers, something that is missing for a while. Mistakes may happen, when you learn from it.

Public link sharing activated on notes in EN web oder EN android is not visible in EN legacy on windows and the other way round. So EN actively changed the mechanism public link sharing is handled... So EN legacy does not just go on working happily as it was. If you want to use basic features as this publik link sharing you are forced to EN 10 or web instead. Workflow killed.
