Consolidating accounts?

Is it possible to consolidate 2 Evernote accounts and if so, how?

I think I figured out that I'm having trouble because my account on my lap top is not connected to my account on my ipad.  I must have created a new account on ipad when i downloaded the app.  How do I combine the 2 accounts without losing anything?

 

Share all the Notebooks in one account with the email address of the other account.

Then, in the other account, join these NBs, and copy the Notes to its own Notebooks.

 

 

This is best done on Mac or PC.

Or export using the ENEX format all the notes, by notebook, preserving the tags, from the account you don't want anymore.  Then import into the other account.

What is wrong with the sharing approach?  It seems easier to me because you don't have to go through all those export/import steps, and you can visually see the shared Notes, so it is easy to copy them to the other account.  Are the tags maintained when copying from shared NBs?

Both sharing and export/import are great options and will accomplish the task at hand.
